“Reno absolutely could recapture it's gaming edge that it once held. The problem is that most people do not know that Reno casinos have better paying slots, better table game odds, easier on the wallet and better comps than ANY Indian casino in California or any casino on The Las Vegas Strip or Freemont Street. And we all know about Vegas tightening up on their stingy paying slots, tripple-zero Roulette, 6 to 5 blackjack, endless fees and overpriced restaurants, etc
The California casinos are too far apart from each other to worry about competition and Reno's looser gaming odds would be a big draw if only more people knew about it. Yes, California casinos are big, beautiful, new and lively. But they have about the worse odds on just about every game they offer. If the gaming public would realize this, the gambling scene would vastly improve for Reno.
Going to a casino outside Nevada is like going to a Hawaiian Luau in Kansas - it's just not the same! Reno casinos have that gaming Nevada-vibe that other States can't match. If all of Reno's casinos would continue to maintain better paying slots, video poker, keno and table games payouts, I could see a bright gaming future for Reno. I bring guests here all the time and they are always stunned at how much better the gaming environment is here.

It's time to rethink Reno”
