“Fascinating store! Great location! There's an incredible selection of some interesting mustard, of course, but so much else. I could have spent quite a bit of time looking around but the cruise ship was in port and space was at a premium! I got some mustard to take home and I'll try it later. I hope I can return when things are a little less crowded.”
“The perfect live saver of a spot when you visit Lubec during a more off-season time. Our motel owner thankfully let us know many places hours are incorrect and not updated with almost no options available for later night. Thankfully we were able to swing in here and grab some premade sandwiches and drinks. The bread was a little bit soggy on the sandwiches but expected if they are siting in the fridge for awhile. This place saved us from eating chips and pop tarts we had in our car so can’t complain! The scent of recently cooked pizza was drool inducing and I can imagine they make some surprisingly tasty pizza here!”
“A combination of grocery items and toys, household, yard/seasonal goods, pet items, and more! For the area it’s a one stop shop type of place. A good stop.. but be aware that this building definitely smells like mold and must. It almost takes your breath away as you enter the store. However, the staff were friendly enough and the store had lots of variety of items in it.”
“The Lyons Market IGA of Lubec, ME came highly recommended and with multiple routes. It was the beacon of light on this cloudy day that I was lead to believe it would be. The building was clean and the shelves well stocked. The staff was friendly but didn’t engage, which any independent or introverted shopper would appreciate! The selection was robust for a small town market, and the produce appeared fresh. While there were no scales that I could find, the pricing was fair and the attendant at the register seemed to understand what weight was appropriate for each item. It is also important to note that amongst their wide variety of products, a great selection of wines and liquors was available, a key ingredient to many meals and sanities on family trips. They also had a great collection of local products on their shelves, adding to their friendly atmosphere. Overall, I would highly recommend this lovely establishment and will likely return because I forgot something.
*The only caveat to this review is to alert shoppers interested in confectionery goods to check the dates as this appears to be a town of health conscience individuals who infrequently purchase sweets, leaving them for unsuspecting travelers to enjoy in a stale state.”
“Very convenient access on the Island, pleasant and helpful employees with everything you need in a grocery store plus a little more.Aisles are organized, wide open walkways, clean and well lit.”
“The new owners are doing a decent job of stocking the store in a difficult location due to the geography of the border between the US and Canada and the current political climate.”
