“Now that the store is all cleaned up and put away it's easy to shop and browse. I go here for inexpensive paper products, Ziplox bags, and seasonal items. Of course, I have to browse to see what new nifty things are on the shelves from decorative vases to wall mirrors, and couch cushions to woven baskets. Staff are always friendly saying hello as you walk in the door. I always pick up a bit of candy too because everyone know Dollar General is the candy store!”
“Great deli and a wonderful place to stop for NH souvenirs. Lots of maple products, baking mixes, soup mixes, and homemade jams and jellys. Lots of postcards as well!”

“Always great quality meats and vegetables. Always clean and well stocked. Unlike other grocery stores and big box stores, many checkout lanes are open so there very short lines with very short wait times. The employees are polite and knowledgeable of where things are in the entire store.... best thing the prices are lower than other local grocery stores. Only supermarket I shop at when I am in New Hampshire.”
“Nice little grocery store. I save on quite a few items making it worth the weekly stop. Almond milk, dairy free whipped cream, chickpeas, beans, creamer. fruits and veggies are hit or miss. The best crew. They are always kind.”
“I had an issue with a credit card charge. Went in Tuesday afternoon and spoke with Kayleigh. Within a few minutes, she had it figured out & I was on my way. Very friendly & efficient. And thier grinders are awesome 👌

“I just moved to NH and stuck in hotel for a month until house is ready we hacmve a very small kitchen in our hotel room so we can cook and prices are good meat a little more expensive and the don't have a card to earn points like other National chains do. The produce you have to really look at. Like fresh Broccoli should be ice on it to keep it firm and not rubbery. I noticed they have Shawn's also here. I used to shop at Shawn's over 20 years ago when we lived in RI. I will go to both stores to save money”
“Hey fellow drivers ...I bring some turkey here from MN ...delivery is appointment for the next day at noon ...I called here they told me come overnight back in dock we will take u @5 am ...wow that's great ...so docks are on rescue lane ...I read someone wrote itz tight ... Yes for a new driver it might be a difficult... But I back it up in single shot between four five tone trucks... right in middle dock ...they have 5 doors ... If ur new try to think before ur move... Go straight back from the rescue lane to docks make sure not to end up in ditch...

“Good solid good, produce, butcher, bakery, snacks, wine, berer and gift shop. Walking distance from hotels on Portsmouth Avenue, and downtown Exeter. A little pricey, but you'll find what you need here for a nice meal, birthday treat or snack.
If you are planning a roast for a holiday, or special occasion, order ahead! Also expect to pay a premium over your local grocery store or McKinnons.
In full transparency they once cut my Christmas rib roast not according to my request which although tasty, was disappointing.,(Prior to that, the cuts had always been to my soecifications). I was offered a credit from the manager, but when I went in to inquire about it twice,no one could help me and I was told the manager was unavailable. I haven't ordered my Christmas roast from them since. This is why I am giving them 4 stars, otherwise, I'd have given them a 5.”
“Their produce is above par. The produce area neat, well stocked and clean. They didn't have some of the things that the larger Hannaford's have but Northwood is right down the street from me so, ok. I do like a salad bar though.”
“Great family that item this store. They literally have anything and everything. Great service very kind, polite and knowledgeable. They have great prices and the meat is top notch...did I mention they take EBT, yep sure do their meat packages are a blessing definitely worth a look around. I love the upgrades too! ❤️”

Because they carry local/regional cheese. Coming from out of town for a week to work, being able to find local cheese and enjoy it during the week was perfect.”

“Compared to Epping or Lee, it looks a little run down. About the same size as Portsmouth. Not as spacious as Epping. Friendly staff and decent prices. Market Basket 🧺 has better, caul Saul, prices than Shaw's.
Update: April, 2020; Now a section next to the deli department that serves sandwiches. Limited bakery 🧁 section.Store shelves reasonably well stocked. RedBOX BOX near entrance. Parking 🅿 lot isn't hectic like other Market Basket's, especially Seabrook!
Small clearance section.
Update: June 2026; The RedBOX BOX has been removed. The parent company went bankrupt.
I like Market Basket's brand of bakery Tiramisu.”

Pharmacists I have ever met! I made the switch to this pharmacy from CVS and was shocked that a trip to the pharmacy could actually be a pleasant one. One of my prescriptions is not always readily available or in stock (no fault of theirs, a manufacturer issue) and both pharmacists have made every effort they can to be helpful where able. Thanks to the Northwood Hannaford team, you guys are much appreciated!”

“I am quite happy with the bakery here and use them to cater many events, the staff in the bakery are always friendly and help me figure out what I need no matter the size of what I am hosting. I find the veggies to be miss quite often in the produce section, but I do like the assortment of ethnic food choices and am always able to find something new to try at home. They do usually have a great ice cream selection.”

“Really like to come here.Never had a bad experience here. Unlike some other stores I could shop at. There's another store I can get groceries at but the checkout lines are Always crazy. A bunch of people that look like that want to fight with everyone in Line.But here at Target is perfect, never ever a bad experience. It's really neat and clean. The Checkout lines are sometimes busy but it's not like some other stores I have shopped at before. The only bad thing is prices are going higher, and Not Lower :((. But Target has everything you may need. The only better would be if had local products in the Store. Handmade”
“Hannafords pharmacy is so helpful and quick! They helped with medication transfer and all in 5 minutes. Before that I've called Walgreens for 3 days for the same medicine and they kept deferring it and saying it's ordered when it was not.”

“The cashier was snippy 0900 today, the meat clerk was nervous about me shopping, used a $10 off coupon (no I wasn't getting $50 worth trash bags) but through it all there were great deals to be had on split breasts chicken, ground beef, turkeys, coke 24 pk. All a buzz over new construction next to it and talk of a McDonalds and an apt. bldg. Most toxic environment experienced of many stores-store manager alerted by same meat clerk survey your cart during visit and are posted near the exit after checkout, much like BJ's where they clear you to leave. As a design change suggestion-the office between c/o and produce occupies precious and needed space-get rid of it and open the space up. Now wearing name tags one associate disguised himself as an associate, keeping an eye on me in dairy, so I asked the price of the Sea Pak breaded scallops frozen no tag, took another to say bring it up to the register ( not so fast - I like to decide before checkout ) ( $7.59 ) . In Durham the Hannafords welcome a new Chipoltes, Mill Plaza.”
“Last night, Wednesday August 26th, my son and I ventured to Walmart in search of s’mores ingredients. I got a little lost down the cookie aisle and was quickly helped by this saint named Laura. She pointed me to where I was looking to go, but also made an incredible suggestion of using fudge dipped cookies in place of that typical graham crackers. It was a very short interaction, but she made my night very special and forever changed the way I will make that seasonal campfire snack. Her politeness and charm, despite being very soft spoken, resonated volumes to me-and it was just what I needed in that moment. I can only imagine that she is an absolute pillar of the Epping Walmart Team. I have been going to that store since it was first built, I have never remembered an employee’s name, and I have never had a more positive interaction than I did last night. What an incredible example of team members are capable of achieving at that store. It was quick, but it led to a very memorable evening with my son in the backyard re-inventing the way I cooked s’mores, and they were delicious. She’s an angel and a genius.”

“Four ⭐ s for my positive experience with the associate behind the counter. I had a delivery from Amazon and she was able to process my order very quickly.Dunkin's inside. Says it's open 24 hrs. Plenty of parking. Facemasks required to enter.”
“I came in with my mother to pick up beach towels and shirts for my son. The store as a whole is clean, well lit, and exactly what you would expect a Walmart to be. I saw two employees restocking inventory. The selection of sunscreen was admirable. I found the brand I especially wanted to find for my son. We spoke to five store associates, all of whom were friendly and helpful. The lady in charge of the changing booth station was civil. I wondered what she was being paid per hour, or if she has health insurance. I dock a star because the corporate nature of Walmart takes more money out of the local economy than it returns to it. That's just the nature of the beast. A gentleman in a wheelchair, with a job title of "ambassador of health", noticed us laughing with the woman watching over the check out area. He complimented my mom on her pocket book on our way out so we struck up a friendly conversation. After two minutes we noticed two teen age girls were queued up to speak with David. There is a commitment to customer service readily apparent. Kudos to the corporate store manager and regional managers of this location. I never thought I'd be writing a review of a Walmart, but it was a pleasant shopping experience.”

“Actually the Lee MB is the more consistent of most of the chain. Employees and mgt are helpful. The associates seem happy at their jobs, that's always a good sign. The Lee MB has Employees from HS to senior. I like that!”
