“I stopped to pick up a few items, not expecting much but this store was so inviting. Nice displays of produce, flowers, just to name a few. And all fall decorations , that I wished I had a big shopping to do so I could spend more time here. A big store, with most everything you need. Clean as well which is a big plus. Glad I stopped in as this seems to be one of the nicest Hannafords around.”

“I had the pleasure of visiting the Laconia Shaws grocery store during Bike Week 2024, and I couldn't be more impressed. The international section is outstanding, offering a diverse array of products that cater to various tastes and culinary needs. It was a delightful surprise to find such a comprehensive selection.
The produce section is another highlight of this store. The fruits and vegetables were incredibly fresh, with a wide assortment that made it easy to find everything I needed. It's clear that they prioritize quality and variety, ensuring customers have access to the best options.
Additionally, the bakery at Laconia Shaws deserves special mention. The fresh-baked cookies were a hit—delicious and perfectly baked. The bakery's wide range of selections made every visit a treat.
One of the most pleasant aspects of our experience was the customer service. Our cashier informed us that, even though we were from out of town, there was no need for a special membership card to get the best prices—everyone is offered the same great deals. This inclusive approach made our shopping experience even better.
Overall, Laconia Shaws exceeded our expectations in every way. We ended up visiting daily during our stay and enjoyed each trip. Highly recommended!”
“Hannafords is my preferred supermarket. They have a great selection of products overall, but I really enjoy the produce, cheese and olive bar. Great organic fruit and veggie section. Good selection of prepared/packaged cuts of fish for grab and go. Staff is always helpful and friendly.”
“My son has a birthday tomorrow and the bakery woman dropped everything to make my 1 year old a Spiderman cake. She even went the extra mile with a mask and I can't say enough about how nice she was. Thank you”

“A perfect small-town gem — more than just a gas station!
The Golden Pond Country Store and Gas Station is an absolute staple in the Squam Lake area — the kind of place that perfectly captures the charm of a small New England town. Whether you’re a local or just visiting for a weekend getaway, this spot has everything you need and more.
First off, the location is super convenient, especially if you’re staying near Squam Lake. Gas prices are surprisingly affordable, especially for the area, which is always a nice bonus.
But this place is way more than just a gas station — it’s a full-on country store with a kitchen inside offering a great selection of ready-to-eat and made-to-order food. Sandwiches, hot food, and plenty of to-go options — they’ve got you covered whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or stocking up for the weekend. The store also functions as a general convenience store where you can find everything from breakfast essentials to grocery staples.
One of the highlights is their selection of local and touristy items, especially those celebrating Squam Lake and the classic film On Golden Pond, which was shot in the area back in the 1980s. It adds a really nice nostalgic and local flavor to the place.
The store is a good size — not too big, but very well-stocked — and the staff is outstanding. Every person we encountered was incredibly kind, friendly, and helpful in a genuinely warm, small-town way. They’re chatty, but in a good way — personable without being intrusive.
If you’re in the area, this place is a must-stop — whether you need gas, groceries, a hot meal, or just want to soak in some Squam Lake charm. It’s exactly what you’d hope to find in a small-town general store — practical, friendly, and full of character. Highly recommended!”
“Biggest shopping cart I have ever seen wide variety of things and also for all you visitors from the tristate area this is the only place that I know of off hand that stocks Jon Taylor pork roll / Taylor ham for those of you who have tried it you already know best breakfast meat under the sun and then for those of you who haven't eaten Taylor ham I suggest you get in there and get it once you have had Taylor ham bacon and sausage are a thing of the past”

“JoJos is a staple here in Moultonborough. They're perfect for grabbing those rolls or milk you forgot to get for dinner, saving you the trip all the way back out to Meredith. Their subs are great, make sure to try the #10 and the #7!”
“Decent grocery store location if your staying in Gilford, NH for Laconia ?️Week. They have wine, a deli, milk, essentials, etc. Would recommend but they do close early at 7 PM ⭐️”
“Great small grocery store that has a selection of anything you might need, including fresh produce and household supplies. The cookies, which they make themselves, are delicious!”
“As a student at the local academy, DG is very welcoming to students and how much they can spend/have. While the place isn't the cleanest, the staff are nice and the store has a wide variety!”
“I recently visited Hannaford and came away impressed overall. The store is clean, bright, and well laid‑out, making it easy to find what I needed without wandering endlessly. The produce section was fresh and vibrant — the strawberries I bought were sweet and juicy, and the greens looked crisp and well cared for.
The selection is strong: they carry good national brands, a decent line of local products, and some specialty items. I appreciated seeing some local dairy and baked goods mixed in alongside familiar staples.
Staff were friendly and helpful. When I asked for help finding an item, the associate went out of her way to point me in the right direction and even offered an alternative when they were out of stock.
Checkout was fairly quick, though the lines got a little long during peak hours. I also noticed that some shelf labels were missing or slightly off, and one or two “sale” items didn't seem to match what was rung up. Nothing deal‑breaking, but a little attention to detail would elevate the experience.
Overall, Hannaford is a solid grocery option — clean, pleasant, and dependable with a few minor hiccups. Worth shopping there and will return.”
