“I went to this Walmart location on my lunch, hoping to get my son's two watch batteries replaced. No one was at the jewelry counter, but I spied someone close by and asker her for help. Super nice! I believe I heard another associate call her Michelle...but her nametag read "Coach." While she was taking apart the first watch, another associate came by to assist...this store seems to have employees with great rapport and friendly staff. They seem to be doing something right here! I got back from lunch on-time, got a new battery, and service with a smile. You can't beat that! Thank you!”

“We have two Market Baskets here in the Portsmouth area. This one is by far my favorite; I will not go to the other one. This one off of Lafayette Rd. is always clean and tidy and checking out is usually fast. I would say that many of the cashiers are not friendly but you find this everywhere these days. The big corporations pay people poorly and expect long work hours. And many customers are not friendly either. I experience more rudeness from other customers than the staff anywhere these days. But this Market Basket is always well stocked and there rarely is a long line during the mid-day when I shop. I can always find everything I need there excepting Pomegranate seeds and hot spicy versions of salsa. I have noted that New England supermarkets tend to stray away from stocking spicy foods. Other than those few things this is one of my favorite places to shop for groceries in the Portsmouth area.”

“I just had an excellent experience at the food counter, they didn't have prepackaged lobster rolls so the gentleman working filled some finger rolls for me. They are obviously busy preparing for the lunch rush but his attitude at the new task was awesome”

“From Nova Scotia, looking for some fresh produce to snack on and prepare while I'm here. Googled fresh produce Kittery and got the Golden Harvest, checked out the reviews , and I was there! Beautiful salad bar, salad for lunch? Beautiful, apples, clementines, green beans and broccoli for snacking. Great service and very polite attentive staff.I will be stopping by annually when I roll through!. Thank you.”

“Choose a hot/cold sandwich panini. Brought to your small table or counter. Beer, soft drinks, several large coffee thermos choices. Cookies, scones, cinnamon donuts looked good. Enjoyed my grilled cheese panini w spinach, and my wife enjoyed robust tuna sandwich with cokes.”

“We do just about all of our grocery shopping at Market Basket in Portsmouth. They almost always have everything we need in stock. Nice clean store, most of the staff are friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking, easy in and out, and great shopping hours as well.”

“The steaks are the best. When I’m going to grill I pick up my filet mignon from Newberry. Reasonable prices to. They offer custom made burgers grilled to order here too. I also bought NY Strip Steak here and took it home to grill. Surprisingly the NY steaks are good as well. Very much like Whole Foods inside except much smaller but if you are looking for organic and high quality selection this place is for you.”

“I just moved to the area and we needed some things from Dollar Tree and we see this little gem. We decided to stop and it was the best decision. Great prices on fresh produce, meats, and so much more. In addition, the owner was there and treated my family and I like he had known us forever. Do yourself a favor and stop in.”

“Love the prices here and really enjoy the selections, many of which other stores in the area don't carry at all. However, customer service really tends to lack and knowledgeable employees as well. When I go to the butcher I like to know what kind of cuts there are for me and if the butcher has no idea, well that doesn't give me much confidence buying meat there. Nonetheless, the prices are amazing and again, I love their selection”

“Shout out to courteous and responsive gas attendant Levi for preventing risk of an explosion from static charge. A man was filling gas tanks in his truck instead of on the ground, but the attendant's view was obscured. Once notified Levi went right over to help the man fill the tanks on the ground were its safe. Thanks Levi!”

“This little deli located inside a surf shop is such a great and convenient walk up food & coffee option when we're at Jenness beach. They have great smoothies, lots of ice coffee flavor options (decent coffee), bagels, paninis, toasts and more. The quality of ingredients are pleasantly fresh and surprisingly veg forward. The staff behind the counter are always friendly and happy while they crank out order after order.”

“I am quite happy with the bakery here and use them to cater many events, the staff in the bakery are always friendly and help me figure out what I need no matter the size of what I am hosting. I find the veggies to be miss quite often in the produce section, but I do like the assortment of ethnic food choices and am always able to find something new to try at home. They do usually have a great ice cream selection.”

“This location has a stir fry station (you pick and they cook) which was not just reasonably priced but kind of a bit of a deal. It also has a hot foods bar (hours vary). No soup station anymore BUT they also have a customer 'kitchen' which is really just an eating area with a microwave. Love it! Thanks, Hannaford!”
