Market Basket is a popular grocery store known for its good prices, wide selection, and friendly staff. Customers appreciate the clean store environment and the improved variety of produce compared to years past. The atmosphere is generally positive, with front staff being polite, respectful, and helpful, especially when assisting with groceries. The store offers a variety of items including fresh meat, bakery goods, and ready-to-go meals, often at prices that beat other competitors. However, some shoppers have concerns about certain practices, such as the placement of stickers over deli meat and baked goods' sell-by dates, which can lead to spoiled items. There are also comments about the baggers and cashiers needing better training to handle heavier items properly and to improve friendliness, especially towards elderly customers. Parking can be hectic and poorly designed during busy times, making navigation difficult. Overall, Market Basket is valued for its quality and affordability, though improvements in staff training and product labeling could enhance the shopping experience.
