“Great store, friendly personnel,CLEAN, ample parking, and always stocked. It is conveniently located right off rt9 and the Parkway outside of Avalon. Great selection of meats and cheeses at the deli and the rolls are fresh.”
“Our smoke alarm battery had died. The unit was hard wired but it still beeped because the backup battery was weak. Tomorrow we are expecting a Nor Easter. We dashed to A me at 9:50 and got there at 10:00. Mimi was leaving and said they were closed. We told her about the smoke alarm and she opened the store for us. We grabbed the batteries and she suggested pizza ( because of the storm). We grabbed three pizzas, thanked her profusely and went home to wrangle the alarm. She was amazing, and totally helped us out for our “girls weekend”Thanks Mimi!!!”

“Digital coupons wrang up incorrectly and I thought they would honor the policy of getting the item free...gave me an excuse that they don't refund full price on digital deal because it doesn't come from their store...this has happened twice and in past two weeks..not a happy shopper. However the store is clean and well stocked and employees are friendly and as helpful as they can be..Acme do better!!!”
“Very clean store. Associates are friendly, kind and hard working. Associates go out of their way to be helpful. Store has a fresh produce section. Well stocked store except for items that are affected by the current supply and demand crisis. The best General Dollar that I have ever been to and I have been to many Dollar Stores in my travels. Beach items, seasonal items, dairy and frozen items, toiletries and much more.

“Acme is a supermarket and the people who work here at great. I worked for 20 years for a supermarket chain. The Acme in North cape may nj. Is one of the best I have ever shopped in. Prices are hi but show me a place who's Prices are not hi. I never have a problem in this store. If they see long lines in the front. They open up another cashier.”

However, I did observe a limited stock of Poland Spring bottled water in larger packs, despite an abundance of non-name brand options. “I shop at this location all the time they have everything you need when you’re on vacation the workers will help you when you have questions. If you get the Acme app, you can get everything on sale. They make sure everything is in stock and free parking outside it’s handicap accessible too , they have those electric carts and restrooms avail!”

“The subs are worth buying and other items are great. Would definitely recommend but skip pepperoni on any sub. They slice it with the plastic casing on it. That was a bit nasty. Just peeled it and enjoyed the sub.”
“They make good subs but most importantly they make American subs, which is my favorite. Seems like no one makes them anymore. The husband and wife owners are really friendly and seem to have a lot of regulars. The only complaint I have is one lady they hired recently. When she makes my subs she puts the lettuce and onions on the bottom before the meat. It might sound like a stupid complaint but I throws off the whole sandwich. I’ve never had a sandwich made like that before and I feel like it’s incorrect. Who does that? I like when the owner lady makes my subs they’re always perfect and wrapped up tight.”
“The staff here is some of the most patient in the area and keeps it very light for the area which can be a bit to the tougher side every so often. The isles are pretty easy to navigate though they do fill it right up and stocking gets a bit backed up sometimes. One thing I noticed for the five stars is how they cleaned up the outside. Before it looked like a dump truck lost its good outside. There is a 24/7 redbox and the lean staff goes out of their way to refer if they do not have something. Only downside is the flyers which at the corporate level are available but not really contributing to my instore experience. It has a pre holiday feel so I am okay with the five stars but it may be difficult to maintain if anyone calls out for a small break - they have lost some key players if you ask me.Excellent stock for food for dogs and athletes on the go but prices dont adjust off season. They may be borderline gougers but for the availability of everything including higher end coffee and other treats it is my go to. The flyer is horrible but great for pups if they will share and they might!”

“Quaint little cheese shop with a nice variety of cheeses. We visited Avalon mid September and the shop was recommended to me by my son, I’m so glad I went. I was able to try several samples of cheese I was interested in, which is helpful because you don’t want to get home and hate the cheese you just bought lol. My favorite was a Chardonnay sharp cheddar.
In addition to the hard cheeses, there were many varieties of cheese spreads available, as well as crackers and condiments, etc.
If you are in Avalon, stop by The Mousetrap. If you are a cheese lover you won’t be disappointed!”
