Then you're greeted by the nicest people and handed very straightforward menus with delicious options from top to bottom. You order wings and a pie and your waitress reminds you that you can get half and half. Don't commit to one flavor experience. Have at least two. Your wings come out and your neighbors comment on them. So you offer them some. And they offer you some of their food. Including their house salad. People. Did you know you could put toasted sesame seeds on a house salad? 10/10. Then your uncle comes by to check on you (he's not your uncle but you're in your auntie's living room so here we are). You joke. He jokes. Everyone is laughing. Everyone is family now. Your pie comes. Half standard Margherita, half specialty chicken with vodka sauce and pesto. Huge. Delicious. Save room for the affogato though. They're super busy but they don't rush you. Open the second bottle of wine. Gab with your friend. Keep eating, or box it up and still chat and relax. You need the wait staff, you let them know. Family doesn't rush family. The bill comes and it's so reasonable for the quality and amount of food you've just eaten. And this is niche and so nostalgic, but it comes with Andes mints. You don't have cash, but Venmo is an option because we're living in the future. This has been amazing. My friends, Holy Tomato is worth driving south on 42 on a Friday after Memorial Day Weekend. Need I say more?
