1901 Deptford Center Road, DeptfordThis was my first time trying the smoked brisket at Mission BBQ, and unfortunately, it was a disappointment. I’ve had much better brisket at Lumpy’s BBQ. The brisket here tasted too dry and lacked the smoky, flavorful taste I expect from good BBQ. I definitely thought it should have been much juicier and more tender.
The restaurant itself has a nice atmosphere and is a good spot for a quick lunch, but for around $30 per person, I expected more from the food and portion sizes. You can easily leave still feeling hungry. On the positive side, the cornbread and mac and cheese were both pretty decent.
What surprised me most is that several of my friends smoke brisket at home, and I’ve honestly had brisket from their backyard smokers that was much juicier and more flavorful.
Overall, Mission BBQ is an okay option, but the brisket didn’t live up to my expectations, especially for the price. I may give it another shot in the future just to see if I happened to catch them on a bad day in the kitchen.

1692 Clements Bridge Road #B, DeptfordWhile we have eaten here a few times, this is primarily a takeout place. Food is excellent - I like the Shrimp with Snow Peas as few places manage to keep the snow peas crisp. Everyone is friendly and the place is spotless. Highly recommended.
