“I wanted to write this review to say what a great guy Mike the owner is. I went there with my Infiniti QX60 do to a sound I was hearing in the engine. He went for a test drive with me and gave me his honest professional opinion, then proceeded to help me see if I had a warranty so I wouldn’t have to pay out of pocket. I did through Infiniti. He did try to scam me or take any money from me in fact he was a genuinely nice guy who did nothing but help me and saved me thousands of dollars. Great guy!!!”
“I'm into my eighth decade on this rock and have thus been to dozens of auto repair shops with various vehicles. Top Line Auto Care takes me back to when auto repair garages and mechanics were EXACTLY that. No fancy bells and whistles, just a good shop with competent staff and mechanics. Having a desk clerk handle the non-wrench part of the business is a big plus, for the boss and us customers.
This was my first visit to Top Line after being recommended by a friend who had an engine replaced. I brought my daughter's car in for diagnosis of an issue and appraisal of what to do with it. They even squeezed it in just ahead of going on vaycay! The car was inspected, the problem found, repair process explained and price quoted. I green-lighted the work and later that day it was fixed good as new at the bottom line I was quoted. How often does THAT happen today??

“Had a Apt set for 3 Parts to be installed. Heat exchanger, catch can and cat back exhaust for my Q50, They did all that in 1 day and all for a very reasonable/affordable price. Everything runs great. Definitely recommend this place they do everything.”

I have a 2015 Ford Explorer XLT, and this was my first visit here. They fit me in on the same day I called to make an appointment, diagnosed my issues, gave me a written estimate, AND completed all of my services within the same day (completely replaced front & rear bakes, rotated tires, replaced driver’s side headlight bulb, and replaced front & rear wiper blades)!

“I've heard it said before that 'any mechanic can change parts, what makes a good mechanic is diagnostics'. Rob at Octane Garage is the best of the best when it comes to diagnostics. I've been to several garages with an EVAP issue for three months and no one could find the problem but Rob found the issue on the very first day and also found an underlying issue with something that would cause me a problem down the road. Strongly recommended. Best garage in central New Jersey. You won't be sorry for bringing your car here.”
“They are the best around. My parents have known Billy & Bobby since high school and they are always very straightforward and quick. They let us drop our car(s) off with a bit of a warning whenever we have a problem just to take a quick look at it. Price is always super fair, way cheaper than the surrounding mechanics in town. A couple years back we had gone to a different mechanic in town and everytime our car left that shop there was “a new problem” and we’d have it back in the shop a couple days later. Nothing sketchy like that ever at Cranford Auto Repair! Trust is integral between a mechanic and their customers.”

“My vehicle was delivered to this repair shop after it broke down on the side of the road. My boyfriend found the shop and had it towed there. I was initially resistant to the repair shop checking all aspects of the vehicle because I had a previous evaluation done stating the starter wasn't working. However, the shop's leader said he would do what I asked, but the car hasn't been fully checked. After further examination, the shopkeeper found that the engine was blown. I was grateful that I didn't move forward with a starter.”

“Been working with Dave & Darren at Mike's Tire & Auto since they were at the Shell station some 30 years ago, and they're totally trustworthy and do great work. Today Dave hooked us up again, reset engine light that came on for the fuel purge system on 2015 Terrain for no charge. We'll have to get a new purge valve if it happens again for $2-300. My wife gave them a barrel of peanut butter pretzels and they were thankful. Most trustworthy mechanics ever! Right here in Spotswood!”

“Faiti is the specialist that helped me out in a last-minute crisis I had. On the way home from New York to Maryland and I thankfully broke down three minutes before his shop. I was able to get my car in and he was able to help me fix my alternator that needed to be replaced. “I worked with Sal at Fanwood Transmissions to figure out a noise my 2004 Honda Pilot was making that no other shop could seem to figure out; and the green D light was blinking on occasion. Sal definitely knows transmissions and was able to tell me what was causing the noise (exhaust system) and replace the part in the transmission causing the D light to blink instead of having to replace the whole transmission. Sal is fair in what he charges and honest. I highly recommend Fanwood Transmissions for all your transmission needs!”
