“I had gone there the other day to switch over from a bank i’ve been using for 5-7 years to this one. i’ve heard great reviews about oceanfirst. i called and one of the tellers was able to assist me in just the general basics of what i needed to do/what to bring to make this a smooth transition. quick conversation but still very kind and professional. i got there later on in the day & everyone was super friendly. the teller i worked with for the hour was Joseph and he was great. he answered all my questions and was extremely patient. i felt that i was bothering him with all my questions but he was able to help me clearly understand that transitioning process from moving accounts to even different features the bank had to offer. he listened to my concerns and what i wanted from this bank & how i wanted to proceed. i genuinely had a great experience and everyone was personable. i appreciate the great customer service from this bank in addition to the fact that i was able to confidently walk out of that bank knowing that everything was in good hands. hands down, i would recommend anyone going to this bank!!”

“I switched over to this credit union from Bank of America when they were threatening to charge a monthly fee for using our debit cards. It annoyed me so much I decided I'd rather support a smaller, more family oriented banking institution. What I love about this credit union: -personalized service- people already know my name! -very old school- call in and they'll mail you a check -only $5.00 to open an account -my immediate family members can join -low as heck interest rates on car and personal loans -exempt from paying car loan in summer months because I'm in education What's not so convenient: -not as many ATM's available -outdated interent and bill pay services -when checking account online, transactions don't always post immediately I'm going to stick with them for a while and see if I can grow some patience while working on not being just another person who needs everything done for me at lightning speeds.”

“To open an account here you have to live, work or worship in Union county. This branch is conveniently located. The people are friendly and the minimum to open an account is $5. I know most banks have a minimum balance that is a lot higher than that. The services are pretty standard but just a heads up they don't give you any starter checks for your account. To get checks there is a charge of $100 but I don't think it is necessary to have checks but just used to getting at least some starter checks for free.”

“This is a great banking service to have right on the campus. There is an ATM here but perhaps only for account holders. The fees are reasonable but working hours are limited. As the parent of a student I can vouch for credit unions as providing better services than the major banks and unfortunately are not well known enough due to limited marketing budgets.”

Well I am here to say that the staff working for Michelle Northe at Arden Ave Branch are fantastic. They always answer questions with a smile and I never wait to long at all. One professional that stands out is Angela Calamia. I have difficult requests about twice a month and Angela Calamia never lets me down. Angela delivers everything I need with plenty of time to spare. Angela even reaches out to me at home if I forget to pick up my items. “I was at the branch today to handle an issue with my debit card. Ms. Charlene was very helpful in explaining what the issue may have been. I remembered that someone tried to reach out to me during work hours about a suspected fraud issue with my joint account, but I forgot to call them back when I was able to. I acknowledged my fault, and inquired what I should do to correct this. She asked a Hispanic coworker, who is always very curt and sarcastic in her responses. I try not to deal with her whenever I go because she has very poor customer service skills (in my opinion). She was of no assistance in my situation, nor did she seem to care where to direct me to for assistance. Ms. Charlene had my husband use his debit card outside to see if it would work (which it did ), and she told me to call the 888 number on the back to help me out. Everyone else is great there!!!”

“While this isn't your standard bank where you can run inside to use an ATM, they have one outside and are committed to hands-on communication with their customers. I came to this bank, not for my own personal yse, but for a family member. There weren't many people when we came mid day, but we were greeted by Alexander upon arrival and only needed to wait a few minutes to be helped.What I witnessed in that short time I was there was the staff being so kind and helpful to one another. You can tell theirs no hostility in the workplace. Every customer that arrived after us was greeted by Alexander (who it is clear is a very personal person), but they also were proud to say hello as if they were all friends. This shows that they know their customers well.He also acknowledged out birthdays when looking at OUR IDs and engaged us in conversation about our celebrations.They quickly took care of all of my family members' needs and were very thorough with taking care of everything, so we didn't have to come back. We need more people like Alexander in the world, and I will definitely be coming back here for banking needs because of this.”

If you cannot make a payment or are going to be late THEY WORK WITH YOU, just call. I like them better than any other company I’ve used and I have used some big names that have a “good” reputation that were TERRIBLE. I will admit that the customer service reps are a little straight forward but for me it’s not a bad thing, they get to the point. Overall, I would definitely recommend them.
