“Our local Rite Aid pharmacy abruptly closed about 6 months ago. Since then we have been using Walgreens in Franklin. Have not had one serious issue! Interactions with staff have been excellent. “If you want me to snap, mention a chain drug store and I'm likely to go postal remembering all those front-line encounters (mostly at CVS) with deranged gatekeepers who whipsawed me between lines and could never could quite help me navigate their idiotic, Rube Goldberg notions of customer service and crowd control. I recently had quite a different experience at Walgreens where I happened to stop in for a flu shot with no appointment. It wasn't particularly busy but the encounter was crisp with paperwork exchanged and the jab administered in less than ten minutes - and, wonder of wonders - no upsell for COVID, Shingles, pneumonia, toe fungus or the heartbreak of psoriasis. I'll save those medical ministrations for my next Bachelor weekend. Thanks Walgreens. Five stars for not being CVS.”

The company plans to add 120 stores during the current fiscal year. Its previous plan, launched in 2023, delivered more than 500 new stores and earned the company a spot in the S&P 500.
