“What a nice gourmet shop this is we were just passing by and had to go in. This is top level gourmet items with a huge selection of smoked fishes. Yes I am vegan but one of the many things I do miss eating is smoked salmon or a bagel toasted with lettuce, tomato, onions, and green peppers. That’s something I would eat once a week forever and as a kid I worked in delis and they have something that I haven’t had in years and I had to get some and that was Halava The nice lady in the store gave us a few samples to taste you’ll see in the pictures. It brought back such memories. We ended up grabbing a gourmet tub of pistachio halava later on evening we shared a few servings and wow it was so delicious. The pistachios on the inside were nice and crispy and the taste just brought back so many memories not easy to find things like this sometimes so now I know where to go.”
“Matt and Mike’s Italian Market is the best place in South Philly! I love their Italian Specialty Hoagies on Sarcone’s Bread! I’ve been coming here since I was a child, picking up groceries with my grandmother. Now, I take my child there. My grandmother, Cathy, has been a loyal customer since the beginning. Matt and Mike have grown as a family and witnessed generations grow.
I see some reviews on here about “scams” or people’s “card number” being used, but these guys are real honest and solid people. I’ve never had any type of transaction fraud my whole life of knowing them. These are some good men who work hard to provide for their families. I highly recommend Matt & Mike’s Italian Market!!”

“I love how this company gives back to the community. They helped hospital employees when our hospitals shut down. They help food insecure. A friend of mine bought me a gift card to help me do homeless outreach. It makes outreach more affordable. We have been happiest with the chicken, steaks, shrimp, muscles and lobster tails. The bundles are also great!”

“It's shocking how they can fit 90% of all of the stuff that's in a normal Trader Joe's into a store that's literally only 3 aisles. The staff are consistently out there restocking so there's never anything missing, and the cashiers are seriously the most efficient cashiers I have ever seen at a grocery store. The parking is always pretty full, but the turnover is so fast that you can always get a spot within like a minute”

The people working were crazy nice- which is super rare in Delco.
The pepperoni brought back memories of the stuff we had back in overbrook.
The star of the show is the chicken cutlet! I bought one to try on the way to my stop. Devoured that in my truck and had to go in and grab a few pounds for home! Besides my own, these are some of the absolute best ones I have had. I would definitely go out of my way to grab more. It almost isnt worth making your own.

I love the new system, where I can find out my total price of everything before I check out. Shop Rite finally jumped on the bandwagon. Giant has had this feature long ago. I wasn’t looking for anything in particular as what I really want is only sold during the holidays (the sweet & salty snack mix). But, because we don’t have TJ’s in Hawaii, I wanted to mosey around.
I’m not a TJ’s pro by any means but this one is small - similar to ones I went to in Dallas and Vegas, so maybe they’re all of the same intimate size?
I did find two products to try: Pickle Potato Chips and Everything But The Bagel Bite Sized Crackers. The EBTB potato chips could not be found.”

Parking is horrible, and this place is cash only. But if you are looking for indonesian food. This is the place. Emping, kacang medan, or even mi goreng in a cup (which I didn't remember seeing growing up) .”

The community Food Coop provides owner discounts and owners become part of the community board and choose who gets to get elected to certain positions. “This is a small but mighty store, they have lots of snacks to try, ingredients to use for a good traditional meal, variety of cheeses and creams that you can not get anywhere else, and wholesale of dry peppers and other spices. Friendly down to earth owners willing to give you tips and suggestions if you need them, or just happy to say hello.”
