“I am constantly at the Ace Store in Caldwell, and always find the staff to be courteous and helpful no matter how small or large a project I'm working on. I believe a lot of the credit can be given to the manager Greg, whom seems to have endless energy in his quest to keep seasonal displays moving, the store cleaned, and well stocked. There have been a few occasions where Greg has even offered the availabilty to order, and deliver, specialty items that may not be in his store at the moment but available upon request. I was just finishing working on another home project, when I thought of all the help the staff and especially Greg have offered me over the years, that I had to stop and make sure everyone knew what a pleasure it is to have this store and people like Greg only a few blocks a way from my next project. Thank you Greg and all at Ace Hardware for the many projects you've helped me finish and Happy Holidays.”
“My contractor recommended that I go to Moe’s to purchase the fixtures for my three bathrooms. I met Gary B and I cannot begin to tell you what a wonderful experience and how easy Gary made it for me to select all of the items needed from sinks, faucets, toilets, bathtub and medicine cabinets. I did my research and Gary made his suggestions on what he thought best for my needs. When I questioned him on his selections, he gave me a detailed explanation on his choices…..and every time I selected what he recommended.As I knew how busy they can get at times I was sure to make an appointment and Gary was on time and never did I feel rushed during our multiple meetings. Once items were ordered, Gary was sure to tell me the correct time for delivery dates. There were no glitches and I am extremely happy to recommend Moe’s not to mention – Gary is one of the most pleasant and best reps I have ever worked with.On a final note I must commend the entire staff – no matter how many times I called every person I spoke with was extremely pleasant and willing to help.”

“I was looking to purchase bottles. I decided to try Airgas after checking out AGL. I called on a Friday and explained what I was looking for (to purchase bottles argon and such...) I drove to location I called (Paterson) and found the parking lot was filled. (Only 2 vehicles) but not parked properly. slid to the side to park somewhat. And the garage door opened. someone purchasing a few propane tanks and a handcart comes out. I was told I cant enter and it was locked and to wait until he was done with these customers. Then was rudely asked what I wanted. I said I wanted to purchase some tanks (argon and such) explained i had called friday before and asked about bottles and he said I could get a better deal on 80lb bottles rather than 60. A nasty reply of "who is he '? I said "whats with the attitude'? Shook my head and I walked away. Then I Drove another 25 mins to Oakland and found a nice man who helped me kindly within 10 mins of my arrival. Step it up in Paterson! If you want business then at least treat people right!”

“once i got there and realized that it was wholesale only, i was about to turn around and leave. i needed to find a replacement hinge for a kitchen cabinet that had been installed in my mother's house 45+ years ago. then i thought, "what do i have to lose?". i went in and waited until the counter guy had helped all the contractors there and then asked him if he could point me to a retail store that might be able to sell me a replacement hinge. he took one look at it and said, "oh yeah, there's a box of old stock over there on the table, take what you need.". no kidding, there were a dozen EXACT same ones in the same color!!! i only took a couple, never know when someone else like me might get lucky enough to walk in there. thanks a million!!”
“My family ran a lumber yard and I worked there during the summer one year so I always love to visit a place like this. Motown Lumber has been in business since 1928, and it's a wonderful old-time shop. That said, it's well-stocked to provide you with the necessary materials and tools. The staff here cares about helping their customers, super helpful and friendly and the prices are very reasonable.”
