“You can get fresh fish and seafood all cleaned and wrapped up to go. They have all you need. Fruit vegetables and fish and meat and cold cuts and chesse. And lets not forget the flowers freshly cut. the cashier's are friendly and fast service. The owners not so friendly. But they definitely deliver”
“The manager's attention keeps the place always well organized and clean. The pricing is clear and the payment methods are very fast.
Our friends always go to Bonzão and even bring Americans to visit. ????? If you want to make more native friends through your culture, this is a good option, as well as to increase your vocabulary to be able to express to Americans the delights and beauties of Brazilian culture. ???

“My husband and I have been shopping here for years. The family operating the store services the community with respect and loving customer service. The produce is fresh and clean & if there's something you need but don't see, they will be glad to order it for you.”
“This is a response to Christopher Williams' Review below:
I am the customer that the Newark Whole Foods manager assisted and am addressing the inaccuracies in Christopher Williams’ recent review. As a regular customer of this store, I feel it is important to provide an accurate account of what transpired and to acknowledge the professionalism demonstrated by the Whole Foods staff.
During my visit, I was in the spice aisle and saw Mr. Williams browsing the shelves. I patiently waited for him to finish before moving forward with my basket. I made sure my basket was out of the way and positioned myself to allow others to shop comfortably. Once Mr. Williams moved away, I approached the spices but maintained a considerate distance, giving him plenty of space.
Shortly after, Mr. Williams returned to the spice aisle. Instead of allowing us both to shop respectfully, he positioned himself directly in front of me, blocking my access. I wasn't sure if he saw me or not so I calmly and politely said, "Excuse me," hoping to share the space without any issue. When he did not respond, I gently said, "Hello?" to ensure he heard me. His immediate reaction was to give me a dismissive side-eye and accuse me of not speaking nicely, which was not the case. I reiterated that I had spoken to him politely and suggested that we could both look at the spices without obstructing each other.
At this point, Mr. Williams' demeanor shifted dramatically. He began to yell, curse, and direct verbal abuse toward me. His language was inappropriate, and his volume drew the attention of other shoppers. I maintained my composure and responded by raising my hand, saying, "I am fasting," because it is the month of Ramadan, and as Muslims, we are not supposed to get angry or engage in this kind of behavior. Becoming angry could potentially break our fast. I then walked away, hoping to diffuse the situation. However, as I moved away, he continued to shout obscenities and insults.
His continued aggression led me to seek assistance from the customer service desk. I explained the situation to the cashier, who promptly called the manager. When the manager arrived, I recounted the incident, emphasizing that I had not responded with anger or disrespect despite the man's harassment. The manager reassured me that Whole Foods does not tolerate such behavior and asked me to discreetly identify Mr. Williams, which I did.
I want to highlight that the Whole Foods team member handled this situation with exceptional professionalism. He addressed Mr. Williams calmly and fairly, explaining that if I had been the aggressor, he would have addressed me in the same manner. At no point did the manager exhibit aggression or use inappropriate language, as Mr. Williams falsely claimed in his review. Instead, the manager maintained a respectful and measured approach, handling the situation, while upholding store policy.
It is disappointing to see Mr. Williams' attempt to reverse the narrative and disparage a dedicated employee. His portrayal of the events is not only untrue but also unfair to the Whole Foods team member who acted with integrity and care. I believe it is important to share the truth of this encounter to preserve the employee’s good reputation and to reinforce that Whole Foods remains a safe and welcoming environment for all customers.
I am deeply grateful for the support I received from the Whole Foods staff member. His quick and fair handling of the situation ensured that I could continue my shopping without fear or discomfort. His actions are a testament to the store’s commitment to maintaining a positive and respectful atmosphere.”

“I can never find anything in this place cause I'm still getting used to it. Their meat prices are decent but their shelf items are higher than everywhere I've seen. Their cashier's don't speak English but it's always easy to get in an out here”
“I lived across from the store for a couple of years, the people running it are great people. Great Prices. Great service. Good food. Best sandwiches as well lol. I Miss them. They will always be my family. Love em.”
“The men that work here alway so helpful and if they dont have what u need wich is rare usually they will order it and give u there number to check back in a fee days”
“This place is one of the best bodegas in that area!! So many things in this store for whatever you're looking for!! Batteries, medicine, phone chargers, groceries, diapers, etc. They have more cakes and snacks then most places and they're sandwiches are THE BEST! Ask anyone around, it's where we all go! And they're insanely affordable, which all of us love! Especially in these pricey times! And everyone that works there is super friendly! They run a great business at a great location and they're always busy for a reason! ??”
“I have been going here for years!!! Great store, good produce selection. Good hot food during the day on the left side when you walk in. Sodas, ice teas, water and juices are always cold and meat dept. is good too. Small neighborhood store that has just about everything you need on the convenience level. The employees are very nice most of the time. I like this store!”
“Great little store that has almost everything! I was making Sancocho and they didn't have any goat =[They've got lots of fresh produce, decent quality meat, lots of international goodies like Nongshim (best instant ramen in the world) even international soft drinks. All the seasoning you could ever want, including MSG. Give it a shot!”
“Great little neighborhood bodega. The prices are reasonable, decent selection of items and there is a sub shop in there. Prices are great and the portion is great. I was visiting the area and it's a great little market. The people in there are nice (might possibly be the owners) and I like it. Wanted to show support. If you live in the area, go check it out.”
“One of the best Latin supermarkets you will find in Newark. The place has a wide variety of products that meet all the needs of the Latin community, and is very popular with Brazilians who find a variety of products that suit Brazilian tastes, such as the famous picanha and many products from Minas Gerais. The place is very busy and the service is excellent. The butcher's shop has all types of meat, the fishmonger's is beautiful, with fresh fish and special cuts, and the produce section is one of the most varied for all tastes. The bakery section always has fresh bread, and the shelves always have the products you are looking for. The market also has a large free parking space in the outdoor area. It is worth visiting and making your purchase.”
“Clean & food Is good great first impression I'd eat here again menu isn't large but I'm happy with selections ! Didn't wait long for food I've gone back almost everyday since !!”
“This store has a friendly, helpful atmosphere. They don't follow you around, like some stores do, as if you're about to steal. Sandwiches have always been fresh. My only issue was, I was about to buy some dog treats, and other things and they were expired. Checking the expiration, should be done before you buy anything anyway, any where though...”

“Nice little italian market. The prosciutto i bought is wonderful. They have several nice pastas, drinks, and candies from italy. As well as a good looking deli counter.I really enjoyed talking to the owners. Very friendly. It’s street parking but there’s a cutout section in front of the store that’s reserved for their customers.”
“Great store with tons of options & prices are fair But the turkey sandwich I had ordered was absolutely disgusting, sorry but I really wanted to give a 5 star rating but the sandwich quality was very poor so.”
“This place is very clean, The workers are polite, an their prices are not bad to be a corner store. An they don't play with covid!!! If you don't have a mask your not getting in.. they got someone at the door to make sure. They also have NJ lottery here also. So when in the area stop by. I went here again today,,,and nothing has changed, except the mask situation..other than that,,,,, their still clean, respectful, courteous, and well stocked to be a corner store.”
“Always a fan of Superfresh, was very excited when they opened in my neighborhood. I always spend more than expected because I always find something that I don't need!”
“I don't know why some comments are saying this store is ghetto. Lol how is it ghetto? It's a nice and clean grocery store with fresh veggies and the people that work there are nice. I went in got my things and got out. But I got my shopping done in the morning so there wasn't really that long of a line to wait. I think some people just like to whine and complain about everything. If want ghetto then go to chicago or Camden. Lol really, grow up guys. Oh and the bakery is good too.”
“This store has been going to for years, and I have never seen a fly roaches or any kind of insect. This sells great empanadas, alcapurias y rellenos de papa. Their prices are fair.”
