Despite it being the holidays with limited staff on hand, Eddie took the job and arrived within 30 minutes. He got me back into my apartment, replaced the assembly, and explained the underlying issues causing the problem. Very knowledgable, honest, and friendly. Would definitely recommend!”

“First I'd like to say the customer service from whoever answered the phone to the many knowledgeable employees they have on the floor to always help is amazing . I went there to get keys made but wasn't coming back in the area for a week so I wa Ted confirmation if the keys didn't work was ok to come back a week later with them ? The answer was a resounding YES NOT A ISSUE !!! Well the keys were cut perfectly (5) in total . Great place and if in the area of Columbia University I suggest 100 % use them for your hardware needs !”

The shopkeeper was very patient listening to what I had tried so far and to my plan, and he offered helpful suggestions. He found screws and washers that were perfect for my situation, and after placing a handful in my hand he told me that I was good to go. I insisted on paying but he insisted that it was fine. “Andrew was most helpful with a problem I had with my 3 DeWalt batteries and chargers, none of which worked, and I didn't know why. He explained that the models had been discontinued, and went to show me an adapter to purchase for my old drill. But then, he disappeared in to the back and came out with an unusable (for him) charger and battery that worked with my drill. He was so kind to let me have them! This is what makes Hometown Hardware and all the employees there so special as opposed to the big box stores! Thank you Andrew!”

They have been helpful with paint supplies, key duplication, plumbing emergencies, etc. I appreciate having a convenient business with helpful staff members that are nice (which isn't always the case in NYC). Much better than big box stores for most things. And fair prices, too. Standard key duplication is only $2.Definitely recommend for convenience, answering questions and guiding me to products for my project.”

The price is higher but I will get the paint right away so I decided to pay extra buck to just get a paint in the store. The paint is pretty good and service in the store is good too.”
