I walk into Barkway feeling so welcome and just it feels so warm. Thankful for them!!

1165 Greenwood Lake Turnpike, RingwoodWe did a 3 week board and train with Jacqueline for my dog Teddy and had such a great experience. She is extremely patient and really good at training both dogs and people.
Teddy came back doing amazing. He is so much easier to walk on leash now and overall feels calmer and more confident. What I appreciated most is that she took the time to show me how to communicate with Ted in a way he actually understands, including helping him get more comfortable in the car which used to be stressful for both of us.
You can tell she genuinely cares about the dogs she works with and wants the training to stick long term. I’m really grateful for everything she did with Ted and would absolutely recommend her for anyone’s dog.

This man sees beyond the veil of dog training, and into an entire different level that most don't even come close to understanding. John is not just a dog trainer. He is YOUR dogs trainer. He understands your dogs behavior on a level that you would not think possible. He trains dogs based on their individual personality while taking into account, breed, temperament, age, intelligence, etc. I own a young Dogo Argentino that if left in the wrong hands could turn into not only a handful, but an actual dangerous liability. My dog came back from a 4 week board and train a completely different animal. Before he was restless, destructive, and only listened when he felt like it. He is now calm and obedient. There is still more work to be done, but I trust John with my dog's life. This dog is like a son to me, and I leave him in John's care without blinking an eye. TAKE THIS REVIEW AS A SIGN. If you are thinking about working with John or are unsure if its worth it. DO IT! Worth every penny and more. No one compares!

600 Westbrook Rd, RingwoodAs a professional certified trainer and AKC Evaluator, I see many dog handlers and professional walkers. Most of them I almost can't watch as they pay no attention to their pack. These ladies are proper handlers, love dogs and are super conscientious. The only reason I would consider offering board and train is because I will trust these ladies to properly keep the dogs while they are in a board & train two-week protocol. I know that not only are they seasoned dog people, but they love what they do!

Wonderful, friendly and welcoming staff right down to the gentleman who delivers he is kind and considerate just like the rest of the staff. I have never encountered anything but exceptional customer service. The food everything fresh to order and I believe everything that can be is homemade. Right down to their delicious chocolate pudding which is not the instant type. I even ordered some side dishes for Thanksgiving let me tell you they made an incredible stuffing it had apples in it something like I never had their own special recipe I presume. I wanted a green bean casserole not even on the menu and he kindly said sure we can do that for you. My family often talks about them wondering how they do it all so many item and daily specials I think they must have 12 people in that kitchen. I feel you know that most businesses do well when management is present well not only are they present the manager/owner will walk around greeting and having conversations with guests on a busy weekend morning he walks around with the coffee pot filling guests mugs I have even seen him helping the waitresses bring out food and may I add delicious hot fresh food. I’ve lived in Ringwood all my life and I’ve seen this diner go thru many changes and owners all the way back to Country Kitchen this is by far the best. I can go on but I will close with this it was Fathers Day and we asked my Dad where would you like to go out to eat? We presumed he would chose a nice Italian Restaurant and his answer was Lakeside Diner for breakfast. What does that tell you.
