“I really love Orangetheory! The coaches are incredibly friendly, motivating, and make every class enjoyable. The front desk staff is always welcoming, and the studio is spotless. There’s also a great sense of teamwork that keeps you accountable—if you skip a class, you definitely feel it!

The only reason I’m taking off one star has nothing to do with this studio—it’s about the corporate-designed workout structure and layout.

The classes are about 50–75% cardio, and the strength sections can feel cramped and a bit disorganized (like doing jump squats right next to someone doing push-ups). The limited space feels tight and sometimes unsafe, and the weights don’t go very heavy. This is especially noticeable with legs were often people are looking to grab 50-60 pounds.

Also, the app asks you to rate the class but doesn’t let you explain what specifically you liked or didn’t like—so it’s hard to give accurate feedback when you might love the treadmill but not the particular weights or rower.

Overall, this studio is amazing with top-notch staff and energy. The lost star is solely due to corporate programming and design, not the incredible local team!”

“I have plans to move to NY and I tried Spot crossfit. I met coach Rashad, Raul and Jessie they were all great made me feel at home and very professional teaching every detail of the movements, they’re very passionate of what they do. I’ve been doing CrossFit for almost 10 years and the most important thing in a crossfit gym, which is a community based gym, you find here. It’s like a big family. Thank you all, be back soon.”

“Very clean and operational establishment, with a couple slight improvements needed. All equipment here is fully functional at the time of this writing. Also, the 30 minute circuit area still exists in this location, with no signage citing a future equipment replacement, should that fit your interest.

While they were prompt in addressing the toilet paper drought I brought to their attention in the men’s locker room, they should have been more proactive with this instead of hanging out and texting at the front desk.

Additionally, the black card area doesn’t have a door. It’s difficult to relax when hearing weights and other typical gym background noises. The franchise should definitely invest in remediating this, especially since this is not an issue at their other locations within this franchise.”

“As 2025 comes to an end, I want to give a huge shout out to all the coaches at Orange Theory. (Don’t make me pick my favorite child!). Nick, Connor, Zach, Cat and Jenna are all awesome, each bringing great energy and creating such a fun and supportive atmosphere in the classes. To ensure I wasn’t compromising my squats, bench presses, and deadlifts, I booked a 2-hour technique session with Jason. Worth every penny! My high bar squat was decent, but I craved better posterior chain development through low bar squats. Jason’s personalized tweaks transformed my form from “okay” to rock-solid.Now, let’s talk bench press. It’s always been my Achilles’ heel, but Jason—a bench press monster—guided me through drills that revolutionized my approach. After just 30 minutes, I was lifting more efficiently, engaging additional stabilizing muscles, and driving the bar with newfound confidence.Surprisingly, my deadlift form needed the most work. Despite countless YouTube tutorials, nothing compared to hands-on coaching. Jason helped me recruit the right muscles, optimize leverages, and—most importantly—lift heavier weights safely.My only regret? Not seeking this guidance sooner. “Joined OTF in Edgewater in July 2024, but ended up injuring myself shortly after (unrelated to OTF). I had to freeze my account for a few months until I felt ready to return. It was as seamless as can be.
Shout outs to Greg and Gabe who hold the front desk like champs!
Back at it this summer ‘25 and trying to keep it up as often as possible.

“I started at the Rack in August of 2016 at their old location in Paramus. I have tried other types of gyms but consistently find myself coming back to this one. CrossFit has challenged me in so many ways to become a stronger individual, not only physically but mentally. I have learned to do things I never thought I would ever be capable of. Moreover, this community has become like family to me. They are my support system and i enjoy my time with them so much. They are one of the main reasons I stay so consistent. “I’ve spent a good amount of time actually exploring the space, using the equipment, and taking classes, and it’s been a mostly positive experience. The gym itself is clean, the equipment is well maintained, and the bathrooms are consistently in good shape, which already puts it ahead of a lot of places.

I’ve taken a variety of classes so far—cycling, yoga, Pilates, HIIT, and Zumba—with a mix of different instructors. My two favorites by far are the instructor who runs the early 6 a.m. cycling classes and Francisco D, who teaches Pilates and yoga. Both are knowledgeable, motivating, and make the classes feel intentional instead of chaotic.

I also tried one of the training sessions offered, and it was a good intro without feeling pushy or sales-heavy, which I appreciated.

If there’s one downside, it’s the crowd at night. Once school gets out, the gym fills up with a lot of teenagers, and it can get loud and overwhelming. I’ve learned that early mornings or mid-afternoons are the best times to go if you want a calmer experience.

Some of the classes did feel a little intimidating at first—mostly because of the pace—but I don’t really see that as a negative. I’m planning to give each class more than one shot before forming a final opinion.

Overall, I’m genuinely enjoying my time here so far and feel like it’s a good fit, especially if you’re into group classes and flexible scheduling.”
