1602 NJ-35, OakhurstI have since switched vets within the last 1.5 years to this location and could not be happier.
As opposed to being treated like a number in line; this staff truly cares and it couldn't be more obvious.
From the front desk team to the doctors in the back I've received nothing but exceptional service from people who really care.

Wagging Tails
926 Sycamore Ave, Tinton FallsI have been taking my Emma for 6 years now. With her nose out the car window she gets so excited when she smells we are getting close. April and Robert are wonderful with all the dogs. They have pools for them and a large sand pit for digging. There is a very large backyard with a high fence and they are NEVER caged. They sleep on the furniture like the kings and queens they are. I am so thankful I found them. April is so wonderful with the dogs and Emma took to her immediately (she was a shy puppy). I can not say enough good things about them...THE BEST!!! And Emma agrees, especially about the homemade treats that are always on hand!!

Purr'n Pooch Pet Resort
86 Gilbert St W, Tinton FallsAs someone who has worked in veterinary medicine for 27 years, I can confidently say that Purr'n Pooch in Tinton Falls deserves the highest rating possible.
Recently, our 16-year-old Shepherd, Zola, stayed there while I had to travel out of town. Zola has numerous serious medical concerns including Diabetes Insipidus, a gallbladder mucocele, late-stage degenerative myelopathy resulting in paralysis, and several other ongoing conditions. She requires around-the-clock care, medications during late evening and early morning hours, and constant supervision. Even with family at home, caring for Zola is not a one-person job.
To be honest, euthanasia had even become part of the conversation because of her declining mobility and quality of life.
Through recommendations, we found Purr'n Pooch in Tinton Falls. I called ahead and explained all of Zola’s medical issues and the level of care she would need. They immediately reassured me that they routinely care for pets with significant medical needs and would have staff available for her 24/7.
The day we dropped her off, I was an emotional wreck. This was the first time Zola had ever been boarded, and given her condition, I was terrified about how she would handle it.
Within hours, I started receiving photos and calls showing Zola relaxing comfortably in the yard with staff members. Dick, the owner, personally reached out several times throughout her stay to update me on how well she was acclimating. He even spent time sitting with her in her room and shared photos of those moments, which meant more to me than I can explain.
When pickup day came, Zola had even been bathed before going home. Anyone who has cared for a paralyzed dog knows how difficult that can be, yet the team handled her with incredible patience, compassion, and dignity.
The care, communication, kindness, and professionalism shown by everyone at Purr'n Pooch exceeded every expectation I had. They treated Zola like family, and during a very emotional time for ours, that meant everything.
Thank you to Dick and the entire staff for giving us peace of mind and for taking such extraordinary care of our girl.

Pet-Friendly Restaurants

Nicholas Creamery
1201 Sycamore Ave, Tinton FallsFirst of all, ignore the overall rating and also ignore reviews that are over a year old.
They accept card payments, and the staff was friendly and efficient, even during peak hours.
As an ice cream lover with a good understanding of flavors and ingredients, I can confidently say this place serves better-quality ice cream than what we had at the Long Branch Boardwalk. You can actually taste the difference when real ingredients are used instead of artificial additives.
If you're expecting premium ice cream made with quality ingredients, then the price is more than fair. We got two scoops of pistachio and one kids' cone for about $11 and some change, which I think is excellent value.
Definitely worth a visit if you appreciate authentic, flavorful ice cream.
