“ALDI in Toms River is basically the definition of “do a quick run” that turns into a full-on haul… for the price of a coffee and a danish. ?
This location is clean, organized, and set up in that classic ALDI way: you walk in, grab what you need, and somehow your cart is full of things you didn’t know you needed (hello, random seasonal aisle). The prices are legit, especially on staples — dairy, produce, snacks, pantry basics — and the store-brand stuff is often surprisingly solid.
A few pro tips for anyone who doesn’t live in ALDI:
Bring a quarter for the cart (yes, it’s normal, yes, you get it back, yes, the first time feels like a shidduch shailah).
Bring your own bags or be ready to bag in the car like a seasoned professional.
The checkout is fast — like, fast fast — so have your payment ready unless you want to do that awkward “hold on one second” shuffle while the line grows behind you.
The staff here are usually friendly and efficient, and even when it’s busy it moves along pretty smoothly. Parking is straightforward, and it’s an easy in-and-out for a weeknight grocery run.
Bottom line: if you want good quality basics, great prices, and a no-frills shopping trip that doesn’t take your whole day, this ALDI is a win.”

“Really good prices. I like the store because it's not an overwhelming selection. Basic stuff, plus some extras. They moved the item locations, but shelves are easy to scan for product. The aisles are very clearly marked. Bathroom is always clean and supplied.”

“This is normally the supermarket I use to fill in a couple items here and there when necessary mainly because it's more conveniently located, even if their prices are normally higher. That being said, they normally have a good selection of fresh produce that is decently priced and Boars Head cold cuts which I love. Today I was pleasantly surprised by their prices being a bit more reasonable and some great sales. I wish they had more "no sugar" items, but they are obviously on the upswing. I may even look at their circular from here on out. We'll see”

“The day I had trying to fill a prescription with a savings card at CVS was so unnecessary. After tons of calls to my insurance, CVS, and the medication company, and even dragging my baby to CVS, I decided to transfer my prescription to ShopRite (transferring even suggested by my insurance) Betsy the pharmacist is amazing!!! She did in 10 minutes what CVS couldn’t do in two days! She was so pleasant to speak with and knows her stuff! Thanks for making my night so much easier Betsy! : )”

“This place always has what I'm looking for. Always friendly. They have Fresh Mexican bread which my son loves. It might be small but has everything I need to make my homemade recipes taste delicious.”
“While talking to a local man who frequently shops there. Lapalma Grocery is great for picking up everything from fresh produce to jumex juice. It's family owned and family friendly. Some staff are bilingual and some not. Staff have a diverse age group and appreciate you stopping by.”

“It was a good store. My local home grocery store. Never had any issues with any employees or the selection of products they had. Unfortunately they gave in to the pressures of certain takeovers by certain people and are closing their doors for good on March 19th 2026. “This has been my family’s go to place for years starting with my parents and now even my kids every encounter with the employees is always pleasant and they truly care about their customers. They carry certain items by request and are always helpful if needed. A store is only as good as it’s employees and these guys are top-notch?”
“It was a Saturday. My wife's pain medication had just been prescribed as well as having a new plan days before all became the perfect storm. Suffering from stage 4 cancer my wife was in severe pain but due to being placed on a new plan that was forced on her by social security it wouldn't go through. These folks at this pharmacy went above and beyond to try and help my wife. They were kind and helpful beyond any standard. Genuine care for our situation. Hail to these people for their kindness and going out of their way to help us.”

“This particular Dollar General is located just outside my neighborhood so it's convenient for me to go to this one. However, it's very messy and not very well stocked. The employees are overworked and dragging through their day. I've had a few vent to me about working 70+ hrs a week, every new employee they higher quits within the 1st few days. I see the same 2 women employees working daily. It's quite obvious that the brunt of this store's operation is on their shoulders. They are unable to keep up with the daily tasks with it just being them. You can see that the store is taking a big hit and is becoming run down. It's a mess.. plastic on the floors, many palettes of merchandise are taking up the floors every which way you turn. Something needs to he done.”
“I have a theory. A conspiracy, if you will. Every time I walk into this Dollar General, the shelves are stocked with everything EXCEPT Pokémon cards and Hot Wheels. Coincidence? I think not.
I’m starting to believe there’s a secret underground operation where the employees get first dibs, crack packs in the back room, and race Hot Wheels down the aisles after hours. Again—no proof. Just vibes. STRONG vibes.
Store itself? Clean, convenient, gets the job done. But until I witness a single Pokémon blister pack in the wild, I will remain suspicious.

I've been coming here more now than Sam's Club. Plus at BJ's, the coupons are better. It's a good, solid place to shop to buy in bulk and save at the same time. Need to step it up and implement a snack bar area.”
