“I love this place.
I've been ordering mulch and soil from the yard for years now. The prices are always really good, and the extra charges for stuff like delivery are reasonable. Especially if you're ordering at least a few yards of something.
I've ordered both online and by phone and the process is always easy either way. You usually don't have to make an order more than a day in advance. I've even called up first thing in the morning and gotten deliveries later that day once or twice.
Every driver I've had is excellent. The Yard will call you when they are loading the dump truck so you can put a tarp down or do whatever else you want to do to get ready for your delivery. The truck shows up 30-60 minutes later. I'll tell you, these truck drivers are something else, watching them work is a treat. Whether it's one yard or ten, they know how to dump it out of the truck bed exactly where you want it and nowhere else.
Also, I really like using undyed mulch becuase it's got a natural look, and I've only ever found it at The Yard. Not Home Depot or Lowes.
I think you can go to their address and buy stuff and put it in your own vehicle, but I can't speak to that because I've never done that. I'm not sure I ever would, either. The delivery is just too convenient.
Don't waste your money or time buying bags of mulch at Home Depot and making all those trips back and forth to your house. If you need at least one or two yards to mulch your beds, just call up The Yard and get a delivery. The last few years my neighbors and I have picked a weekend to do all our mulch spreading and we get one big order of 6 or 7 yards of mulch, get it dumped in one of our driveways, and split the delivery cost.
EDIT: Actually, one more thing. I'll show you the math. Right now, in 2024, The Yard is charging $33 per cubic yard for brown or black dyed mulch. A cubic yard is 27 cubic feet. Bags of Vigoro black or brown mulch at home depot are 2 cubic feet. You'd need 13.5 bags to get a yard. Each bag costs $3.33. So if you go to Home Depot and buy 13.5 bags you'd spend $45 total.
So, if you needed two yards of mulch, you could go to Home Depot and spend $90 to haul 27 bags into your car and bring them home, assuming they'd fit, or, you could spend $66 + delivery, which probably works out to about $90, and get better mulch delivered to you.”

“This garden center initially appeared small, but it is surprisingly expansive.
The establishment offers a diverse range of products, including apparel, indoor and outdoor plants, soil, planter pots, outdoor furniture, and more.
I highly recommend this establishment to anyone seeking to support a local home and garden shop in the area.
Initially, my colleague and I believed we could explore the entire store within 30 minutes before closing, but we required additional time.
Today, I visited the store to purchase a shallow pot for my ginger root plant and soil for my cherry tomato plants. The prices were more favorable compared to larger retail chains.
I will provide a photograph of my repotted plant once the process is complete.
One last thing I'd like to point out is that when they close at 6 pm, they mean they close directly at 6 pm, which I appreciate. Long days of work and time to go home.”

One of the standout features of this nursery is its extensive selection of seasonal and native flowers, seeds, garden plants, and large leafy plants from different countries. Many of the plants I’ve purchased have thrived for years, and I often find myself returning to buy gifts for friends and family.
The convenience they offer is another reason I keep coming back. You can call ahead to check if they have a specific plant in stock, and they rarely need to put you on hold to find out—they already know! The staff are not only friendly but also most of them are bilingual in Spanish, which is a fantastic plus.
The range of soils available is impressive as well, from seed starters to orchid mixes, cacti soils, and indoor houseplant mixes - all of which are certified organic! They also have an amazing selection of pots, from artistic ones to hanging pots you can definitely find the right one. They offer repotting services upon request as well.
I wholeheartedly recommend supporting this nursery as your local plant dealer. They truly offer a paradise for plant lovers!”
“Greg and staff are knowledgeable, honest, super friendly. Very quick and efficient repair of my mower. They know mowers and small engines like none other. While they service equipment for the area lawn service companies they are very user friendly for local homeowners like me. Don’t be turned off by the industrial storefront. They also sell new mowers, blowers, trimmers, generators and accessories like gas cans (the good quality ones unlike those sold at the big box stores). They will be my go-to for both service and sales from this point on!”
“I’ve gotten a few things from Brookside Garden Center over the years and have always been happy. I recently decided to send some flowers to someone from here after their family member passed. Very last minute, I had to either change or cancel the order due to the recipient being out of town and Brookside was so kind and accommodating. “First time doing business with this establishment. Ever since the Pandemic I have been very proactive with planning and budgeting home projects. I am in the market for materials and supplies for a retaining wall and also an mini outdoorBBQ Station and kitchen with sink. Jersey Landscape and Gardens only sells the top rated brand of papers in my opinion Cambridge with Armortec. Their prices are fair and reasonable , that I stayed within my forecasted budget. The delivery charge is more than competitive. The staff is very friendly and and go the extra mile to work with your needs.
