“10/10 !!! I called before I came to get Screws and nuts for a project. I was Greeted by a gentleman who was more than happy to answer my questions regarding ours and inventory. Later that evening I walked in and was greeted by a pleasant lady behind the desk who helped me find what I needed. After leaving I found that I got the wrong screws and nuts. I called and asked about to return policy, where I was helped by a second gentleman who spoke to me with passion telling me to just bring them in and don't worry the right size will be found. “Can't say enough about this old school mom & pop hardware store. It's been around since the invention of Dirt! Family owned and you know that you can go there for that particular thing and if you also need some guidance on the task you're undertaking as well, these guys know their trades and will happily, patiently explain how to go about the task at hand. Sure, I could hoof it over to Home Depot and possibly save a few shekels, but to walk out of this store having been fed a helping of old school customer service, the kind that is so rare these days, you may have forgotten what it is! And it strikes me, "oh yeah, there still are a few stores run like this. Whew!" That's worth more than the few shekels extra you may have paid here, bc that kind of feeling that all is well in a lil pocket of the neighborhood is basically priceless! “As a lifelong resident of Jersey City, I only first visited Tsigonia a few days ago in search of purchasing Benjamin Moore paint. I called the day before I visited to make sure they were going to be open and what their hours were and spoke to the nicest man on the phone. I had the pleasure of meeting Stanley upon my first trip to the store and it was such an amazing experience. He's so pleasant, helpful, genuine, and knowledgeable. It really took me back in time to experience such true customer service. He made such an impression on me. Stanley walked me through everything I needed, even mentioning things I didn't consider, giving me options to choose from, saying 'we want to make sure we have this right'. In this day and age, where are you going to find someone who actually cares about the color and finish of how you're deciding to paint your home? To me, that caliber of character speaks volumes in the day and age where you're likely to be flagging down someone for help in a store because they aren't around or are glued to a device. Anyway, I ordered the first batch of what I needed from him, and some samples to try. I made my mind up over the week, and called in the rest of my order because I would be arriving for pick up close to their closing time and wanted to be respectful of operational hours. Stanley was so precise, patient, and thorough with my order, 6 different colors and a variety of finishes within them - all to a T. My order was ready and accurate, all waiting to be paid for by the time I arrived. This man is truly such a role model for customer service, for this business, and the human race. Was not sure even sure what to do with a snowblower I was given (does this thing even work? how do I turn it on?)From the very first call, this place went above and beyond. Debbie called me at least 5 times to coordinate pickup and drop off (due to my busy travel schedule)- she was super flexible, informative, and understanding of my needs- and she left so much important detail in her messages to me. For example, I had to suddenly go into the city on the scheduled drop off date, and she found a way to get my drop off scheduled for the next day so I could be there for it- and she also coordinated with the delivery tech to make sure he stopped to show me how to actually use the machine. She did this with minimal contact with me as I was in meetings all day.The tech that picked up and dropped off the snowblower gave me extremely detailed instructions on how to use the machine as was well as tips to take care of it and avoid future issues. Either Debbie told him I had no idea what I was doing, or he could just sense it from my questions- but he did a great job of giving me dumbed down instructions without being condescending or making me feel like an idiot.My experience from my first call to payment and receipt of my machine was exceptional and painless. I was listened to, prioritized, and treated with kindness and respect. I will be using them again for any equipment needs, and recommend you do too- especially if you are intimidated by machines/equipment/are not handy.”
