“a very clean tea shop that seems to favor a modern aesthetic. sells a variety of teaware and teas sourced primarily from china, japan, and korea.
it’s definitely on the higher end price-wise. the staff also seems to be fairly hands-off and only approach you to help if you have questions, which is suitable for people who prefer to be left alone while shopping.
i do wish there were samples of the tea to at least smell them, but i can also understand that may not be suitable for teas this high-quality. they have some nice gift options as well.”
“Come here for all your spice needs, and also somehow the best fresh produce in the neighborhood! This is my secret to finding ripe avocados and really tasty citrus. They have pretty much every spice you could imagine organized alphabetically, and also really great dried nuts and fruits/berries. Good place to find a potion or tea if you're feeling sick.”

It feels good to have an in person interaction and buy things on hand. I get anxiety these days scrolling through amazon reviews and not sure if I'm purchasing the right thing, when it will come, etc. etc. This is now my go to store!”

“I’ve been a member here for 10 years, with a few years off when I lived outside the city. It’s an incredible gift to have access to such high-quality food at such low prices. It’s gotten me through many broke periods. It’s also the best grocery store in the city that I’ve been to.
People complain that you must be a member and work in order to shop, but the work requirement (free labor) is how we keep prices so low. Further, the coop is already packed to literal capacity, there’s a wait to become a member and sometimes a line to get in the door. There’s no space for non members to shop or look around. (People always imagine themselves as a single non-member shopper — they don’t imagine the implications of their desired policy that would extend to the entire public.)
People also have negative stereotypes about coop members, but I haven’t experienced anything different here than elsewhere in Brooklyn. Sure, some people are annoyingly intense, but it’s the same as if you went to a community board meeting. 98% of the people are chill and just want to save money on groceries.”
“Great prices for lots of beneficial herbs, oils, and supplements. Their black seed oil is priced reasonably, along with their selection of herbs that come in oz's when bagged and purchased. Would highly recommend to anyone taking a more natural route for their health.”

“I have been a customer of theirs for the longest time. I can’t even tell you how many years. I used to go to the store on Fulton and Nostrand. They have never given me wrong advice the herbs the tonics have all worked way better than any medication I have ever been on with no side effects. They are definitely my go to source. Whenever my Doctor diagnoses me with anything I run right to them not to the pharmacy.”

I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending this location to others!”
“I had such a positive experience at Lily's Vegan Pantry. Ever since moving out to the East Coast, I have wanted to stop in to see their variety of inventory, and I was finally able to get that opportunity. The store is located in Chinatown, and I originally walked in, said hello to the owner, and started to walk around to see the store. I started to take a few photos of the products they offered to post later to my "foodie" Instagram account when the owner came up to me as I was the only one in the store. Our conversation was very nice as I got to know a little about her background, as well as just have a casual conversation about all-things vegan/vegetarian. The store has been open for about 31 years now, and was originally created by the now-owner's parents, so the store has been family-run the entire time. The owner is vegetarian, but knows some great vegan spots in the area, as well as offer a great variety in vegan products. They have popcorn, beef jerky, Asian snacks, & a large selection of frozen/refridgerated vegan proteins. There is a good mix of more "mainstream" vegan brands, along with brands with delicious-looking vegan products. My only regret is that I didn't empty my entire wallet as to try everything in the store. I will 100% be back soon to try some of those vegan proteins. I highly recommend checking this store out if you're in Manhattan. The owners are extremely friendly, the store is very cute, & they have all the vegan foods you could ever ask for (especially if you liked Asian flavors!).”

The shop is small but the selection is large, the girls working there were nice and welcoming and the vibe was great :) I like to take my time and look around and felt no judgement about taking my time (which I always appreciate), would def recommend to anyone who like that kind of stuff, and even if you don’t and are just interested to check it out, try it! “I visited the store after spotting it from across the street. Mya (I hope that's how she spells her name) was a very welcoming gem. I came in to see if she had a menthol oil for congestion which they did. She also gave me free tea to try. If I was not on a time crunch I would have loved to stay and chat with her and find out more about the business. I'm definitely returning very soon. I live in Staten Island so the trip is worth it. Obie is phenomenal! His product knowledge, confident presence, and positive attitude made this a very memorable and enjoyable experience. His guidance made me feel like I was genuinely getting what my body needs and where I want my body to be overall. From previous experiences at vitamin shops the workers try to stack and upsell me on products that don’t truly benefit me. This experience has changed my outlook ant vitamin shops and I am grateful for Obie, customer service at its finest.

“I have been coming to Tony’s for years about 15 of them. I am so confused about the reviews of this location. Reading some of them don’t even coordinate with this location. However I have stumbled upon Tony’s health food store which is a completely different location on Glenwood rd. Which has horrible customer service. This Tony’s is on Fulton and every time you walk in the door the family that owns it treats you like family. They have the best items, will order items you need and they don’t have and all of the staff are extremely nice and helpful. There is only one person behind the counter and she is the only person to work behind the counter. The entitlement I read on some of these reviews are atrocious. Ie: “I was running late and wanted them to reopen, cut the register back on and ring up one item for me.”HUH? The hours are on the door and it’s nobodies fault one strolls in late but they are supposed to reopen for your one item? That sounds crazy. You don’t grab the item and they throw the money for it in their pocket. It has to be rung up which involved reopening a store and cash register. people need lunch breaks. They do close I think from 1pm-2pm or something like that for lunch so keep that in mind. Oh I get it, people work on your time but you disregard theirs. I can’t. People get Wi-Fi and don’t know how to act. I do not work there, have no affiliation but I am a customer, a steady customer and even after moving out of New York I pass 1,000 health food locations to get there and will continue too” do so. This place is amazing and I’m glad they are there.”
