“As a woman, I felt the need to put a review & I'll tell you why. First, let me make it clear, KX Auto is my only auto shop. I personally will take my car there & feel comfortable. This is for the women who are looking for an auto shop.I've been going to KX since 2018 or 2019, I can't remember. These guys have solid work ethic & provide quality service to my car. They've seen both mine & my husband's car & provide fair pricing. They're the only people I trust with our car now because they've helped me troubleshoot my oil issue & they're the only ones that know what to do. Since then, I'm stuck- love this auto shop.They're thorough, explain everything to me, they'll take pictures & send it to me to show me the issue, they've given me time to make a decision if it's a big fix, I'll even do my research & try to figure out what I'm saying & what I find is that they're honest too & if I have any questions they don't make me feel dumb because I'm a woman-- I've gone to places that have made me feel pretty uncomfortable. They have seen me move through life as a single to married woman. Despite me having my husband, if I dropped off the car they'll call me & provide updates/inquire what I want to do next. I don't know about you, but I want that. I feel respected in this small way that they treat me. I don't feel sterotyped or made out to be not as competent with my car. They'll communicate with me as they do with him. Super professional & I hope they never leave the Philadelphia area or be forced out of business.Parking can be hard because they're located on Washington Ave. There's construction & a new apartment is coming in so I don't know how that'll impact accessibility to them. But, I'm going to keep coming.This is the only auto shop I’d recommend & given other reviews, that means they get booked up & busy. So, if you need something serviced, regularly like an oil change or inspection, I’d schedule it out in advance. If you’re in a bind, they’ll try to work it out & help you.My only concern is that I dont know when these guys go on vacation. Honest concern because I want this auto shop around for a long time. If they scheduled a 2 week vacation I wouldn't be mad & just schedule my services before or after.This is how an auto shop should be. I should've written this years ago!!”
“Johnny is always honest and kind and straightforward. His prices are more than reasonable and he does little small things to help without nickling and diming it. I always feel it generosity and care from him. I'm visibly queer and disabled And he's always treated me with the utmost respect. I know very little about cars and he's patient with me so I can follow what I need to understand.”
“As a newcomer to Philly that's always lived in small towns, I was nervous about finding a good trustworthy local place to have my vehicle serviced. I reached out on the local Facebook page and Phil's was one of the spots that was recommended most. I needed a PA state inspection and they were able to get me in and out in a day. Phil and the team were welcoming and friendly. I appreciated the communication (via the text service) with updates, and that the repairs that were needed were a very reasonable price. I was back on the road by the end of the day. I certainly will be returning for any future car needs and would enthusiastically recommend Phil's to anyone needing service in the South Philly area!”
“Christmas Eve my pickup truck began having issues on my way to North Jersey. The day after Christmas, contacted Mathey Auto for help after being turned down by 2 Ford dealers in the area (couldn’t get me in for at least 2 weeks). Judd had me come right in and set to work on it. Same day got the most comprehensive report I’ve ever seen, including photos. By this time I was home in Maryland, work was approved electronically and they had it done within 2 days.Hands down, best automotive experience ever.”

“Being an Uber driver, I put a lot of mileage on my car, (50,000 to 60,000 per year)...when my trans went bad almost 3 years ago around 120,000 miles I contacted Pat's and they set me up with a working remanufactured transmission that I purchased with a 3 year/unlimited mileage warranty...after that one went bad around 100,000 miles later he replaced it for free with another one, then another 100,000 or so and almost 3 years later with 315,000 miles on the car he replaced that one for free again. They do great work and they are very honest and keep good communication over the course of the job. Highly recommended.”
“Since i’ve been to Marty’s, I will not take my car anywhere else. I’ve always been a bit nervous talking to mechanics because i’ve been taken advantage of before, but everyone at this shop is honest, fair, and I’ve never waited more than a day for my car to get fixed. Plus Marty always has free treats to give out for some reason lol twice in a row I walked out with bags of fresh rolls! Heck he even had one of his mechanics come and pick me up with my car when it was finished because I didn’t have a ride and he didn’t want me and my son to walk the mile to pick it up. I highly recommend Marty’s auto repair!”

“I ended up calling them because it was recommended by a guy name Dylan that works with my dad in township. I made an appointment to bring my car here cause my car needed to get fixed for my coolant leak since the dealership never took care of it and I needed my battery check as well. Well here I am so glad that I took my car here because after putting all that money out from the dealership to the point they couldn’t fix my vehicle properly . This place I took it too fixed my car and fixed what was wrong with it. Apparently my water pump broke and they took care of it and at a reasonable price. My original price for my car was $442 but since I was paying in cash the guy only charged me $400. From now on I am bringing my car here to this place for all of my car fixings and when I need my oil change done . I am beyond happy and so blessed that my car is fixed and still running good :)”

“Morrissey really helped me out this week with giving me a second opinion on a car issue. They were SO accommodating, letting me come in with almost no notice and checked my car for me while I waited. Turns out, it was nothing to worry about and they saved me a TON of money. Will definitely be back and planning to transition my regular car service here!”

“Everyone wanted to repair my transmission. As well as motor mounts. Lincoln dealer, transmission repair service. But after checking it out, I only needed motor mounts. Saved me thousands.He lifted the engine a bit transmission was OK. Only installed motor mounts. But I was given estimate. That everything was needed. Thanks again. That was June 2022 now car running fine.”

“Great customer service. My door actuator went on my Honda. After my previous mechanic of 8 years was caught twice deceiving me stating that i needed a new battery (just installed a new one myself 2 days prior) and rear brakes were down to the metal ( only 10k miles on them and 60% left on pads) in one visit, I drove to Extreme Auto to line up an appointment for actuator. The owner said i'll take a look at it now. Diagnosed the issue in 2 minutes and took car right in for repair. Picked up car and it works perfect. Extremely fair price. I'll be returning for all my auto needs from now on. Honesty goes a long way.”

“Never write reviews, but just wanted to acknowledge the good people that work at Phil's shop. I brought my car in to have an inspection and a mirror replaced, which they did a great job with. I especially appreciate the transparency/efficiency with their phone/email follow up and digital quotes. After my car was repaired, it was parked on the street for me to pick up that afternoon. In that brief time, the car was hit by a truck that drove away (a rare but standard risk for any shop that doesn't have a lot to park cars under their care). Phil's team was extremely professional about the situation, filed a hit&run report, and took care of the subsequent repairs without any fuss. I think a lot of shop owners would have tried to deflect the responsibility, but they were really calm and easy to work with in a stressful situation. They are trustworthy, good-hearted people.”

“I found this place on my way to a site near by. I had a mechanic near Broad and Pike since 2008. I left that mechanic to come to Harry’s. When I say say I love the service I get and the prices you can’t beat. Harry tell you the problem and he get to working. First come first serve no matter who you are. They take their lunch break between12-1. So glad I found this place and when I read the reviews I was already hooked. Job well done Harry!!!!”

“I was in quite a pickle with my car needing a new timing chain and ultimately a new engine. (It seems that most of my local shops don't do work on timing chains.) Pat and Kelly were amazing at helping me through the whole process, from getting my car to their shop, sourcing a replacement engine, quotes about the work, and accurate estimates about the time frame for completion as well as cost. I live over an hour away from West Deptford Auto, but I wouldn't hesitate to take my car there again.”
