“The decor is quaint and in keeping with Wildwoods' stuck in the 50s theme. The Starlux is how people from the 50s envisioned the future would look like. Our room was really tight. The bathroom door was not a full size door and it still just about cleared the 2nd bed when opening it. The shower was designed to get you clean by power blasting your first layer of skin off. Effective, but painful. The shower rod also needs to be replaced with one that curves outward so the curtain doesn't constantly get sucked into the water stream. Breakfast is an afterthought. Don't let the free breakfast be a difference maker between this and another hotel. Just walk over to the Key West Cafe and eat there. The location relative to the beach, the boardwalk and then convention center is excellent. If you plan on spending most of your time there, this could be a good pick.Walkability: Great location to tourist activities”

“For the prices, our room was great. Everything was clean and we had a full size refrigerator. We’ve been here before and see that they’ve updated a bit. The staff, especially Debbie, is extremely friendly! Also, it’s very close to the boardwalk and beach. Looking forward to going back next summer and fall!!”

“My daughters family and I had a wonderful time here. Unfortunately, the last two years we can’t get a room but we do love the place convenient to everything very friendly management staff.Walkability: Tori’s pier is almost a mile away. The dolphin hotel is in the crest, but the tram car is right there or if you don’t mind walking it’s just a short walk.”

“My dad found this hotel in 2019 and we have been coming back every year! We already booked once again for 2024!! The employees are more like family they're kind and always available. I love that they heat the pool just in case it's chilly and the LOCATION is also great just a small block away from the boardwalk definitely family friendly.”

“My family of 4 with two teens have been staying here for about 7 years now after staying at other places in NW. We absolutely love this motel. Melanie the owner is a fabulous host and always so welcoming and friendly. If you need anything at any time she is there to assist. Her staff is pleasant and keeps the rooms clean and serviced. The rooms are clean, modern, and well maintained. Effort is made to keep things current and fresh. There are a couple of grills to cook. A nice pool and sun deck. We have never had any issues with noise, rude guests, or partiers. Smoking is only allowed in one small are alwY fromm everyone else. The motel is definitely a place to come to the shore and have a great experience for adults and kids. The price is great for a room that overlooks the beach and ocean. All around A+ rating. Love it here, that's why we keep coming back year after year and have no interest in staying anywhere else.Rooms: Clean, modern, and comfortable.Walkability: Board walk is a few blocks away.Food & drinks: Russos which is a market and food place is around the corner.”

“You are getting exactly what you pay for. Everything is clean. Staff was helpful. You're just about on the boardwalk. Walking distance of some great restaurants. Something to keep in mind generally about Wildwoods... it's a bit of a walk to get to the edge of the ocean from where the beach starts. Anybody with mobility issues might have some problems with the distance. There are also no changing stations or showers. This is less about the hotel and more about the area. The hotel itself is very servicable, has a nice pool, and is a value at the priceNearby activities: Basically on the boardwalk... . Some good restaurants nearbyWalkability: (Nothing to do with the hotel) but there is quite a distance from where you enter the beach to the edge of the ocean. Elderly people and those with mobility issues should keep that in mind”

“You can't beat the location, gorgeous ocean view, the wonderful diner downstairs and comfort of the rooms. The rooms are clean, the beds are super comfortable and the AC unit works so well, you might have to turn the temp up! The staff is super helpful, attentive and friendly. We had excellent housekeeping service every day, and never needed anything extra. The fridge was the perfect size to keep some smaller groceries/lunch items and beverages in, and we really appreciated the quiet hours (10pm - 10am) and that personal radios/speakers aren't allowed, so everyone can enjoy their vacation. Just use ear buds :) We had peaceful sleeps every night!We really enjoyed our stay, and recommend anyone staying here!”

“Stayed at the Bolero for the first time. The location is perfect, I can see the ocean from my 6th floor suite. The ferris wheel is perfectly in view, and I'm sure it looks lovely at night time this summer when everything is lit up. I loved the hot tub in the living room. I love that the sleeping area is separate in the luxury room.The windows were drafty, and you could hear the wind whistling through them, and there was a live band somewhere in the area while we stayed, and it was very loud, even in our sixth floor room. It does make me worry that if we were to stay here during the summer vacation season that would be too loud to comfortably sleep. There were also no screens in the windows, perhaps that's just a seasonal thing, but I would love the option of opening the window when Spring and Summer come to get that Ocean Breeze without bugs. Overall, I really did enjoy the clean room and hot tub and it was a good deal too!”

“My family of three stayed on the third floor, which was the best floor. The pool is small but clean. The location is great, less than a block from the boardwalk. Small, clean, updated room. Had a coffee maker, microwave, and small fridge. Patio with patio tables and grill. Perfect for our little family. Nice family motel. The manager, Simon, was so accommodating and a very nice and easygoing man. Thank you for making our visit pleasant!”

“Just 1 block from the boardwalk. Rooms were very clean. Everyone was so nice. The desk clerk even went out of his way to make sure we found parking, which was very limited. The only complaint is that we were on the 3rd floor (not the fault of the motel), and you must climb stairs to get there. This is true for almost all motels in NJ. No handicapped parking, no handicapped accessible areas. I know it's not the fault of the motel, as ADA laws don't seem to be enforced in NJ. Luckily we had my nephew there to carry luggage for us.Rooms: Rooms were clean.Walkability: Just 1 block from the boardwalk. Made everything easy to get to.Food & drinks: Everything was close by. A breakfast, lunch, and dinner restaurant was directly across from the hotel.”
“The owner greeted us when my husband and I arrived! Oh this place is pet friendly and the best place! It was so cute that they had a food and water bowl and a special treat for our Yorkie! I would highly recommend Sandbox Motel to all of my family and friends!”
