“Best butcher shop in New Mexico. They have every concievable cut of beef on the floor. The quality of each cut is top tier in both marbling dry aging. I love how they let you pull entire baskets out from the freezers to get a good look at every steak to find exactly what you want. I'd also like to add that everyone on staff is always very friendly and helpful. Their advice has helped me cook my steaks exactly how i like every time. 10/10”

“Loyal! I’ve been getting my meat here since I started shopping for myself. Over 40 years oh my! They offer fresh high quality meat. Their ground beef is always fresh not brown in the middle with fresh meat surrounding it like a local farm store in town. They also sell Chile, new crop beans, tortillas, cheese, milk and various other products for posole, menudo or tamales. Another plus is exceptional customer service! No matter how busy they are they never rush you, give you service with a smile and carry out your items to your car! Special shout out to Daryl I hope spelling is correct. He provided outstanding customer service, remembered what I wanted the first time, clarified my order explained the different cuts of meat, was fast, and very nice! I wouldn’t shop anywhere else! Give it a try you will never shop at that farm store again !”

“I’m so used to buying whatever brands of carne seca they sell at Smith’s that I forgot what it’s supposed to taste like!Just stopped in on a whim and I’m so happy I did. Bags of popcorn and red chile chips are front and center, and bags of jerky line the perimeter of the store. I was initially sad they didn’t have a red and green chile combo, but I bought both and the red is definitely a winner! The bags were reasonably sized and I got a very decent amount for $5 a bag.If you’re in the area (or not), stop by Garrett’s for affordable, fresh, crispy but not brittle, flavorful carne seca! The Mexican soft drinks were reasonably priced, as well. I don’t remember the last time I hadn’t felt price-gouged (probably pre-pandemic), so thank you! ??️?”

“Hey, I'm from Oklahoma. We have a few head of cattle roaming around here, and we have quite a few very good jerky companies, too. My go to is Jerky By Art-a couple of states over in New Mexico. Awesome, consistent and tasty. Try the red, green and Christmas chili flavors. Love that dried pineapple, too! Just put in my latest order! Enjoy, y'all!”

“Had one of the best Mexican food experiences since I moved to Albuquerque. If you want authentic Chihuahua Mexican style food, this is the place to go. The menu is simple, but everything we had was amazing. The food was seasoned to perfection. The restaurant section in this store is quite small, but it gives the feel that you are eating at Grandma's house. It feels as if the place is family owned and operated, and you can tell that they care. The produce and meat selection is of good quality and tastes like it ? . Good date spot for your Mexican food loving significant other. Oh, and the candy isle is awesome!”

“I came here with my friend for the first time. It is located in the corner of the shopping center. I had the special. It was asada and pastor tacos. They were delicious. The red salsa was my favorite. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend this place. They also have a market that sells meat and other Mexican foods.”

“The staff was friendly even though they are inundated with the homeless population constantly, stealing and loitering around his small business and doing drugs, all the while families are just trying to go to the store... I commend his efforts, it must be hard to do. Keep up the great job.”

“Many excellent authentic cremas, cheeses, freshly made Mexican salsas. They have a Mexican foods hot counter with $6-7 plates - haven't tried. They have some meats on sale each week, like Carne Al Pastor for $2/lb.Usually best prices on jalapeños, chiles, poblanos, onions, avocados; often on sale. The 4th St NW store doesn't have alcohol.”

“Fantastic place to get meat. The also have vegetables, eggs, tortillas, cornmeal, seasonings, and much more. Also, the wrap the meat in butcher paper and not tons of wasteful single use plastic. Just overall fantastic service”

“Went to go there for the market. When we arrived the sign said open but the door was locked. Proprietor unlocked for us. Small store, some unique items but we could tell many things have been there for months based on the undisturbed layers of dust.”
