“I see a number of OLD reviews that had issues. But I can't speak to borrowing from 1st American, only as a checking / savings customer. I had an account with another smaller bank In Casa Grande (Stockmans became 1st National, then became 'the bank of Joe' or something and SERVICE degraded with every buyout) Seemed every time I ordered new checks, the bank changed names. ENOUGH!!! I moved an account to 1ST American in 2012 and have had nothing but courteous service, and professional handling of my funds.. I have to agree there is a little funkeyness in how the paper trail of how they handle depositing a outside check, or how they move funds from account to account when you just want to withdraw from savings, but in the end the numbers all add up. (just a bit hard to follow sometimes) I have other accounts at CHASE and if you want to be treated like a LOOSER (no matter what your credit rating or account balance is) just try to deal with an ever-changing and shrinking staff at CHASE and a bunch of NewYork rules and lawyers making things difficult,,, just to justify the retainer CHASE pays them. If so just give the non-caring morons at CHASE a try. I've had CHASE deposit MY funds in someone elses account, had 1st INTERSTATE freeze my business account over SOMEONE ELSE'S TAX SIEURE, and took me 2 weeks to get refunded. Know how many checks can bounce in 2 weeks, and 1st Interstate (NOT to be confused with this 1st AMERICAN C U) refused to remove the bounce check charges THEY created. I guess the short of this, ANY body or bank can make a mistake, but HOW YOU ARE TREATED when your trying to resolve a problem is what puts one bank above another. These days SERVICE at a bank is rare with brick and mortar banks closing, drive throughs closing, and everything going to a phone APP, NO THANK YOU!!!! That has not been my experience with 1st American Credit Union.”
