Washington Park Inn is a historic building from 1884, offering a stay in a grand old home for those who appreciate character. The inn provides self check-in, easy parking, and is clean with incredibly comfortable beds. Guests have access to a large kitchen with a water machine, several comfy seating areas, and extra blankets. The location is convenient, with public transportation readily available for Amtrak travelers and dining options within walking distance. Feedback varies. Many guests would not hesitate to stay again, calling it a great find with a flexible breakfast featuring fresh organic choices, yogurts, apples, and bagels. Others found expectations not met, noting issues with communication, check-in instructions, and thermostat control. Some rooms have translucent curtains or could use black out curtains, with one room not recommended. An in-window AC unit drowns out street noise. The breakfast offering was not impressive to some, and streaming services did not work for all.
Easiest stay I've had at a hotel. Emailing the door code made it really convenient when we came in late!

This was five stars, not in the sense of The Four Seasons or the Ritz-Carlton, but in terms of a clean, convenient, comfortable and reasonably priced stay in a place with a little character. Read the other reviews - they’re accurate.

When traveling I always try to opt for a unique, independent inn or B&B, rather than a soulless corporate hotel or support the grubby business model of AirBnB.
This one was fantastic! Cool old house, loved the common areas to read while while I had downtime. Excellent location too at a reasonable price.
