“had an excellent stay at Staybridge Suites Albany Wolf Rd–Colonie Center. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the location was extremely convenient, and the service throughout my stay was outstanding. I especially want to recognize Michael, who was incredibly helpful and welcoming. I also want to thank the entire front desk, breakfast/cooking, operations, and housekeeping teams for consistently providing great service. A special shout-out to Nay from housekeeping, who did an amazing job keeping my room clean and comfortable. Her attention to detail was greatly appreciated. The complimentary breakfast and social hour was convenient and well maintained, and the hotel’s location next to Colonie Center and close to Wolf Road makes restaurants, shopping, and other activities very easy to access. Overall, what really made my stay stand out was the staff. Everyone I encountered was friendly, professional, and welcoming. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel.”

“The gentleman who checked us in on a Saturday afternoon was hosting a masterclass in guest relations. As far as we knew, he awarded us upgrades and ensured we had every amenity available. We felt totally valued as customers. The hotel is large with several different areas, with some upper scale units which included fireplaces. There was a beautiful wedding party in the large atrium, yet we couldn’t hear a peep from our room. The hotel is adjacent to an airport, yet we couldn’t hear any buzz from our room, which boasted a comfortable king bed. There’s an attached restaurant/bar, and diamond amenities include breakfast for two. We enjoyed our stay at the Desmond, and would return.”

“This is a gem. If you’re a person doing business in Albany for any length of time, you’re in great hands there. Would highly recommend. It really is a home away from home. We stay there when we visit our son who is a student in Albany. The building(s) are lovely looking at the park. If you’re looking for a state of the art modern hotel this may not be for you. But if you appreciate history and charm you will be in heaven. It’s a little quirky, but for me it makes it even more attractive and interesting. The staff couldn’t be more friendly, helpful and pleasant. Truly outstanding. One of our favorite things about the inn is that there is a delightful garden court yard. We’ve used it at night when celebrating milestones. Nights we’ll never forget. The parking can be a little tricky due to the city’s laws, but a minor inconvenience considering all the wonderful attributes. Frankly, it is just a lot of fun to be there!”

“Overall, I’d give the Hilton Garden Inn in Albany 4 stars. The hotel is perfectly fine and provides a generally comfortable stay, but there are several smaller details that could use some attention and would make the overall experience noticeably better. One of the biggest areas for improvement is the parking. The parking situation is a little questionable and not particularly well organized. Some of the spaces are extremely tight, especially if you’re driving anything larger than a small car, and there isn’t a lot of clear direction regarding where guests should park or the best areas to use. After a long day of traveling, the last thing you want to do is figure out a confusing parking situation or worry about squeezing your vehicle into a very tight space. Better signage and clearer direction for guests would go a long way. The rooms themselves are okay and generally comfortable, but housekeeping could pay a little more attention to the smaller details. One thing we noticed was the limited number of linens and towels left in the room. It would be nice if the rooms were stocked with a few additional towels and linens from the beginning rather than guests having to request more. It’s a relatively small thing, but it makes the room feel better prepared for arriving guests. The same goes for the soap and toiletry dispensers. These should really be checked and completely refilled between guests. If the hotel is going to use refillable dispensers rather than individual toiletries, housekeeping should make sure they are adequately filled as part of preparing every room. Guests shouldn’t check into a room and find dispensers that are nearly empty or need to request replacements during their stay. None of these issues individually are major enough to make this a bad hotel, and overall our stay was okay. The property has plenty of potential, and the fundamentals are there. It’s really the attention to detail that keeps me from giving it 5 stars. A little more organization with the parking, better signage, additional linens and towels in the rooms, and more consistent checking and refilling of the bathroom dispensers would make a noticeable difference. Overall, it’s a decent Hilton Garden Inn and a reasonable option when staying in Albany. We would consider staying again, but there are definitely some operational details that management could improve to make the experience more polished and consistent with what you expect from a Hilton property. Solid 4 stars.”

“Room we secured on line was not cleaned when we arrived. Bed was unmade, looked like someone was still occupying the room. It was the only king left so we were given a double queen instead. This motel is nothing fancy but was a good spot and good value for the money.”
