This Duane Reade location provides a generally good experience for prescriptions and general shopping, with many customers switching to it after a nearby Rite Aid closed. The pharmacy service is reliable, with pharmacists and some assistants described as great and helpful, and customers report being able to reach them by phone. Many staff members, including cashiers and floor associates, are friendly and helpful, though some employees can be difficult or unhelpful. The store's website is useful for placing orders for delivery or in-store pickup. The store itself is described as kind of small, outdated, and sometimes cluttered, with aisles occasionally blocked by boxes of stock. A common frustration is that advertised sale items are frequently missing from the shelves even when the website shows stock, requiring trips to other locations. The product selection is mixed: it carries a wide range of products, with decent skincare, a wide array of cosmetics, and medical supplies, but has a poor selection of food products. Prices during sales are good, and customers can usually get in and out quickly. However, the store's rewards program is not considered particularly generous. Overall, it serves its purpose for regular shopping despite its shortcomings.
This store being closed at 10:00 when it's closest to one of the busiest streets in Astoria is a tragedy

unacceptable hold times are direct reflection of little they care for patients. the hold time is always 1-1.5 hours per call. this is corporate greed at its worst - go with a small pharmacy such as Crescent apothecary , Crescent Chemists, Double G, Astoria Chemists etc

On hold with the pharmacy for an hr just for someone to “pick up” and never answer the phone. I heard every in person clients full name, DOB and Rx. Horrible
