“The ownership and staff at this place are very cordial and professional. While they normally service the restaurant industry on large scale deliveries they are welcoming to people like myself, who just walk in off the street, looking for some products for their home or personal recipes. Their walk in box is massive and handles everything from fruits, to vegetables, to salads! Everything is usually brought in the same day from the Hunt's Point market in the Bronx, so you generally needn't worry about dates and spoilage. This is great for all your produce needs, so stop in and take a look!”
“Great market, vast assortment, really fresh goods and affordable. I really love markets like this. The drink side is awesome as well. The granitas are a little too sweet for my liking, but you can go inside to let them mix up something else. I really wish we had this in Manhattan. I will definitely be back.”
“Excellent culinary, olfactory, visual and addictive experience!!! A trip to Mexico!!! Impeccable service!!!
We ordered crab and shrimp pastries as starters. Which caught my attention because they are whole jumbo shrimp!!! Something unusual in Brazil!!! The salmon was divine with steamed vegetables and al dente!
Very good prices, very popular!!!”
“the closest thing to a green market in Queens. Fruits and vegetables and bunches of herbs locally sourced and achingly fresh and delicious. Garlic so new and flavorful that I've had to cut down in recipes. L.I. tomatoes glowing with real dirt picked fresh off the vine--no wonder they've been here fifty years and open until midnight. The beginning of fall apples waiting for pies and apple sauce. The two women who run it are sympathetic and helpful. If you can't find it, they'll know where it is. Even the potatoes taste fresh--so different from standard grocery store fare! Summer asparagus that I couldn't stop eating. And baby zuchinni and I don't like zuchinni. I am so happy. I didn't think when I moved anything could equal the Sunday market at the museum of Natural History. Elliniki more than succeeds--and its open seven days a week.”
