Retro Fitness offers modern facilities that cater to various fitness needs. The gym features an extensive collection of fitness equipment, including numerous machines, five squat racks (with two that can be converted into deadlift platforms), a deadlift platform, two smith machines (one angled), two bench presses, an incline and a decline bench, and several large cable rigs. There are also many kettlebells, open space for stretching, and additional equipment like parallelettes and tires. The gym can accommodate groups for scheduled fitness classes and provides a relaxed area near Stretch Areas, partly outside, with free machines available after workouts. The space is very spacious, and the equipment is modern. The atmosphere is friendly, with good music playing, such as Type O Negative and AC/DC. The gym is popular among people in their 20s and 30s, creating motivating surroundings. It is considered one of the best gyms in the Astoria area, offering a good experience at a reasonable price, especially outside peak hours when equipment is easier to access. However, some members have expressed concerns about policies, such as needing an ID to bring a friend, which they find unnecessary. Some have also noted that during peak hours from 5-7:30 pm, the gym can be crowded, making it harder to find available machines. Despite these issues, the gym remains a good choice for those seeking variety, space, and a lively environment. The cleanliness, friendly staff, and modern equipment continue to be praised, though some mention the lack of amenities like hair dryers and paper towels in the bathrooms.
The place is very well maintained and clean. New lockers in the Men's locker room are great. Good range of equipment. Staff is friendly. Snacks are well stocked. Great value!

I’ve been working out here for about a year. Got everything I need. Great gym. No complaints.
