“I just stayed at the Fathoms Hotel & Marina in Port Washington for the second time and Cindie and Steve welcomed me like a member of their family. From the moment you walk in, there’s a warmth and sincerity that makes you feel at home. That’s not something you find in most hotels!
The location is nothing short of breathtaking. The hotel overlooks historic Sands Point and the Long Island Sound. It’s so peaceful! You can sit on the end of the dock and watch boats drift by or seaplanes takeoff, both relaxing and inspiring.
Every detail in the hotel feels thoughtfully considered, from the cozy, beautiful-decorated rooms with the lobster (Mort Washington) stuffy to the inviting shared spaces to snack and grab a drink. You can tell this is a passion for Cindie and Steve, not just a business.
If you’re visiting Long Island, give yourself a treat and stay at the Fathoms Hotel & Marina. It’s a place to feel cared for, connected, and restored. It’s my favorite place to stay!”

“This part of Flushing feels like Taipei, Hong Kong and Shanghai all wrapped up on one, but right here in New York! I stayed in this hotel for the second time because it’s a fairly easy 20 minute walk to city Field to go see my beloved Mets play… That’s solid option good price for New York. Breakfast is better than almost all American hotels.”

“This is my fourth summer staying at The Rockaway Hotel, and I genuinely love supporting local businesses—especially one that allows for a chic little staycation so close to home. The location is ideal, and this summer, I’ve noticed a marked improvement in the beach amenities. Chris is doing a fantastic job—truly a highlight of the experience.
That said, there are a few things I wish the hotel would consider for future guests:
• Room Comfort: The pillows in the rooms leave much to be desired, and the lack of USB or USB-C charging ports feels outdated in 2025.
• Weekend Experience: Be aware that summer weekends feature live concerts on the patio that go until 10 PM—fun for some, but not exactly conducive to a relaxing evening.
• Pricing vs. Value: Rates on weekends are steep given the room size and overall service level.
• Family-Friendly Vibes: While I understand that families make up a large part of the clientele, the pool area can get quite chaotic. As someone who comes to unwind, I often wish there was a more serene, adults-only vibe—at least in designated spaces.
Still, The Rockaway Hotel has carved out a special niche, and I continue to return because the location, the team, and the spirit of the place feel like summer to me. I hope they keep evolving—and listening.”

“We stayed at the Residence Inn by Marriott New York The Bronx at Metro Center Atrium after being displaced by a fire, and honestly, the staff made such a hard situation feel a little less awful.
Everyone was incredibly accommodating and kind to us. They remembered what we were going through, checked in where they could, and did little things that meant a lot — like turning on the fireplace on the patio when we asked and just generally making sure we were as comfortable as possible.
Naomi and Winzell deserve a huge thank you. Naomi was the real VIP of our stay because she made sure my ESAs were taken care of, which took so much stress off my shoulders. Winzell was also amazing and helped us when we needed to extend our reservation for an extra night.
Thank you to Joseph too, for fixing the computer station and printer when we needed it. That might sound small, but when you’re dealing with displacement paperwork and trying to keep your life together, working printers matter.
I also want to shout out the bartender. I’m so sorry I forgot her name, but she was amazing. Her music was always good, she always took care of my drinks, and she listened to me complain when I was clearly going through it. She even made me a vodka Red Bull after I bought my own Red Bull because they didn’t have any, and honestly, that was iconic of her.
The breakfast staff was also great. The food was really good, and the service was always attentive. The two gentlemen who run breakfast on the weekends were so sweet and helped us get breakfast together to bring upstairs for my mother.
And thank you to the cleaning crew for dealing with the mess of our pet-friendly rooms. We had a lot going on, and I really appreciate the patience and understanding.
This stay happened during one of the worst weeks of our lives, but the staff made us feel cared for instead of like we were just another reservation. I’m really grateful for everyone there.”

“I stayed in 407 on business and the hotel is pretty nice, looks like it might have been renovated. I stayed in a Courtyard in Buckhead a few weeks ago and it had the same room features except the outlets on the wall by the tv and night stands can fit multiple plugs at the same time. The only suggestion I have is having a couple of house umbrellas behind the front desk and the parking lot had poor drainage.”

“I am a native Nyer who moved and back visiting from NC. Stayed here as the reviews were better than others around. While this was a tad pricer I decided why not. We arrived around 8pm. At first look the property looks really good. There were valets who we asked where to park and they showed us the other side of the building. On entry in the lobby, it's clean, uncluttered and well lit. No musty odors. We got to our room and we were impressed. I had no expectations but was nicely surprised. I am always on the look out for a room not well cleaned. Hair on the pillow or bathroom floor...NOPE. there was none of that. We ordered room service and the bread basket with the olive oil was really good. The fries..were crispy and done well. The room was modern enough, clean. Not a dust in sight. Even in the morning. Bravo. We actually decided we would stay here again. No complaints.Rooms: The rooms are spacious. Had the king room.Food & drinks: Food was good. A bit pricey but worth it.”
“Parking options are few, but I also arrived during a snowstorm before the plows started clearing so understandable. Nice rooms, slept well, and would stay again.”

“I would rate this hotel as a 3.5 out of 5 overall. But let me say some nuance first.
If you need a solid hotel in flushing and you have a bunch of places you want to go to in Manhattan. John hotel is great for a few days.
Pros: absolute phenomenal LOCATION,
Solid room, clean enough except maybe corner spots on on the tub. Good security. 2 blocks away is main street and theres private guards and NYPD at every bank. This place has police 5 minutes away from the hotel.
Location: 7 train subway is 2 blocks away, tangrem mall and movie theater next door, target is 2 to 3 blocks away. The la guardia Q90 bus is across the street pass the avenue and between target and another restaurant.
Theres a laundromat 15 minutes away and a bus to go there. Theres literally several malls(skyview where target is, tangrem, etc) in walking distance and the food choices are ao dense I had trouble deciding which café, restaurant, diner to go to. Near the train subway theres a 24 hour chinese diner for food and a halal cart that services up til 5 am.
And several spas that offer foot ,head, amd back massages. Usually rate is 45 to 60 for an hour.
Cheap halal dinner is 10 bucks for a large portion or 15 to 20 bucks for a sit down diner. Theres Hotpot and korean BBQ for 50 bucks to higher end sushi places for 100 nearby.
Cons: noise at times. I could hear traffic eben from the 7th floor at 11am.
Big one for me: during winter there is only heating. So if you are visiting there during colder weather, the hotel has central heating and even if you put the ac to cool, it will just blow hot. Suggestion is to put it to heat at a temp and when you need to cool down then shut it off. It naturally went to 65 when I was there in December.
Note:By train, its 40 minutes to Manhattan, 50 minutes or so to empire state and about an hour to battery park if youre trying to see the statue of liberty.
Rush hour morning is 7am to 930am.
Afternoon is like 330 to 630pm.
Car: its a one road lane and way to get there. Theres an underground parking lot and the skyview mall parking lot nearby where target is.”
“The staff is very kind, the room is comfortable, and the location is right in the middle of several stores and restaurants in Flushing. Train station is within walking distance, too! I saw someone complain about the complimentary breakfast, but I found it to be pretty decent as far as hotel breakfasts go.”
“As a discerning traveler, my recent stay at the Four Points by Sheraton Flushing NY, exceeded all expectations. From the moment I stepped into the hotel, I was met with an ambiance of modern elegance and hospitality. The attention to detail in every aspect of the property, coupled with an array of amenities, ensured a memorable experience.Firstly, the hotel's aesthetics are simply wonderful. The modern design combined with tasteful décor create a welcoming atmosphere that immediately puts guests at ease. The meticulous attention to cleanliness and maintenance further adds to the overall appeal of the property. Moreover, the level of customer service exhibited by the staff at Four Points by Sheraton Flushing is truly commendable. From the friendly and efficient front desk personnel to the attentive housekeeping staff, every interaction was marked by professionalism and genuine warmth. Any concerns or inquiries were promptly addressed, contributing to a seamless and enjoyable stay. One highlight of my experience was the hotel's bar, where I indulged in some truly delightful drinks. The expertly crafted cocktails and extensive beverage selection provided the perfect setting for relaxation. In conclusion, despite initial apprehensions stemming from other reviews, I can confidently attest that the Four Points by Sheraton Flushing is a marvelous property that delivers on all fronts. Whether for business or leisure, I highly recommend this hotel to travelers seeking a combination of new hotel, comfort, convenience, and exceptional service. My stay here was nothing short of exemplary, and I look forward to returning in the future.”
“Grace Aerial Technologies recently stayed at Hyatt Place Flushing/LaGuardia Airport during a transit-focused visit through Queens. The property stands out for its cleanliness, thoughtful layout, and strong awareness of the surrounding community. For travelers moving through LaGuardia Airport or navigating New York City via public transportation, the hotel provides a practical balance between operational efficiency and guest comfort.
The overall environment is modern, clean, and well maintained. Staff interactions throughout the stay were consistently friendly, professional, and attentive, and communication regarding hotel operations was clear and helpful.
Guest rooms are spacious, quiet, and organized in a way that supports both rest and productivity. Lighting throughout the room is evenly distributed, making the space easy to visually assess upon arrival, while furniture placement allows for comfortable movement of luggage and clear walking paths.
Food service is available on site, though breakfast is not complimentary, which may be important for budget-conscious travelers. The dining options include several Asian-inspired selections that reflect the surrounding Flushing neighborhood, creating a more locally authentic experience compared to typical airport-adjacent hotels.
Safety and operational awareness appear to be a priority throughout the property. Emergency signage, accessibility indicators, and assistance areas are clearly marked, and hallways, elevators, and public spaces are well lit and easy to navigate.
The hotel’s location in Flushing provides strong connectivity to LaGuardia Airport, nearby transit routes, and a dense network of restaurants and neighborhood businesses. This makes the property particularly practical for aviation professionals, international travelers, and guests who want reliable transportation access without staying directly at the airport.
Overall, Hyatt Place Flushing / LaGuardia Airport provides a clean, culturally aware, and transit-friendly stay that balances neighborhood authenticity with professional hospitality standards.

“Nobody likes missing a connecting flight, but TWA made it more bearable with their hospitality and convenience to JFK. Our next flight was 24 hours later and upon entering TWA we were greeted with professional service. I paid for the noon check-in seeing as it was only 9 am and normal check-in wasn't until 4. Within a half hour a manager came up to us in the waiting area and had us brought to a room for no extra charge. It was very appreciated. Also, we would have much rather been to our destination, but this was a very unique and interested pitstop. The history and architecture were intriguing. There are food options downstairs as well as a giftshop, so we did not have to leave the hotel once. It was also convenient that the hotel connects directly with terminal 5 so we did not have to go outside in the February weather with our suitcases.”

“I checked in on Friday at 3/20 around 3pm and checked out the following Sunday. The front desk worker, I think Maria, at the front desk were incredibly friendly helpful in getting me connected with the wedding I was attending in town and directing me towards important times, like the shuttle to the events. They also offered me a cocktail and kindly checked for better rooms without me having to even ask . The room service was great and was brought hot on real plates with covers. I also texted the front desk asking for a razor and someone brought it to be in 10 minutes. Old fashioned hotel service that is hard to find these days. The bed was so comfortable but I just wish the beds didn’t roll a bit throughout the day. Still I slept like a log.”
“While I didn't stay at this hotel I went by to pay a visit to a long time friend (family) who works at the bar there. I was accompanied by another long time family friend (family) member who surprised her who hadn't seen her in several years and we hung out in this fabulous hotel for a couple of hours just reminiscing about our old stomping grounds and catching up. The ambiance there is so relaxing. Everyone is friendly. My girl who's the bartender will definitely take care of you so feel free to stop in for drinks!!!”

“Hats off to Manning and Ellie at the Jones Beach Hotel inWantagh, NY. Great experience and so much has to do with the customer service we got from the start. As so many reviews say, it's a hidden gem off the beaten path in a quaint neighborhood. It was very clean, cozy and costs less than your chain hotels. Love the pay phone in the hallway. It's a time machine as you step inside. We had no time to enjoy the attached restaurant but it was highly recommended. Thank you, again, Manning and Ellie.”
“Great cheap spot. Really good for raunchy photos and videos and making memories. Have a few memories here with friends. The jacuzzi rooms are nice but always booker for some reason as of lately…
Location is stellar, right by the grand central, easy access to different parts of queens and easy to get to the other boroughs and Long Island.”

“Don't comment on room service cuz we were there two days and we didn't get room service and they said they didn't do anything to the room on a daily basis. But the room was fine and the staff was very nice. Lynbrook is a very nice place to stay in. The breakfast in the morning was bacon and eggs an assortment of cereals and coffee and some bagels and croissants and juices and I think that was pretty good for Continental breakfast.”
“Been coming here for years. Staff is always nice to me & my fiancé. Never had no issues at all coming here. It had a vending machine in lobby full of chips/candy/soda. Also they had 4 hour rooms & over night stays. It is no longer a hotel it’s now a shelter. I will miss coming here so much !!!!Walkability: Walkable to the avenue, and near buses to travel. “This was a really good stay. The airline put me up here, idk what it cost. I was scared at first because of the unknown and it’s old and small. The room was very clean, comfortable bed. The whole place was very clean. Good breakfast. Safe. Easily accessible. I wouldn’t ordinarily book at a hotel like this, but it was MUCH better than anticipated. The staff was GREAT. Laid back, very nice people. Especially liked the night audit guy and breakfast lady. I suspect this is a budget friendly choice, but it’s actually a great place, surprisingly. Food near by. Easy to get around. Clean. Safe. Friendly staff. THANK YOU FOR NOT BEING NASTY OR SCARY. lol”

“I just parked there for airport ride.
Coming back shuttle is a hustle.
You have to take the train. To fed circle then call and wait 40 min for their shuttle.
So it’s not worth it.”
“Pros: cheapest option. good LI location. responsive front desk. good cleaning service.Cons: stingy smell of cigarettes in the lobby, hallway, and in the room. outdated rooms. I immediately took off the old blankets on the bed. no microwave/fridge in the room.”
