“We have stayed here numerous times when visiting family. Prices have gone up but the suites are just perfect for our stays. The free Buffett has gotten so much better, better quality food, better display of the food, all due to Donisha Jordan. She is organized, professional yet very personable. So nice to have met and talk to here. We also would like to shout out the young lady who made our reservation ( sorry cannot remember her name). She worked with us to secure a room in a timely manner. Marisol Umanzor was also wonderful at the front desk. We would have given this hotel 5 stars but they no longer serve bar bites which is really needed,especially if you are drinking at the bar. Overall excellent stay and excellent staff. We miss Zoe Parker the former manager there.Rooms: SpaciousNearby activities: Neighborhood not that great! Potholes everywhere leading to hotel.Food & drinks: Bar service good but bar bites needed..BRING THIS BACK!Noteworthy details: Staff is wonderful!”

“We stayed at the Opera House Hotel on 4/25/24 with our 2 boys for their first trip to NYC! The staff was welcoming, helpful, and engaging. The hotel was trendy and a delight! Our room was large, very clean, and the beds were comfy.We walked to and from Yankee stadium for a 7pm game with no problem! For those afraid of the community it’s a city and you just need to be mindful of your surroundings.We were lucky to get a parking spot in the back…just make sure to ask for the address of the parking entrance when attempting to use it!!The breakfast the next day was just what we needed before heading to the Bronx Zoo! The 24 hour coffee machine with so many selections was a great perk!Thank you Opera House Hotel for a wonderful experience…we will definitely be back!! To everyone readying this review…just book a room and enjoy the experience!!! It will not disappoint!”

“Great stay was in town for a funeral.
There is a lot of activity And Non guest and homeless people in lobby using the one microwave in the hotel for guest. And there’s no parking despite free parking being on booking info. Otherwise it was a reasonable price for New York.”

“This place is a dump. No parking and the rooms are tiny . The area is seedy but there is a police department down the street. Who ever fixed the building up did a horrible job.”

“My husband and I spent our anniversary here, thanks to hotel representative “Jocelyn” help my Husband chose a beautiful room we would never forget…..the room had a jacuzzi in Red and the picture on the wall even lit up giving the room a romantic feeling. Thanks Jocelyn again for making our night wonderful, and because of you we come to this hotel once a month to experience this moment.”

“Rooms: All the rooms come with smart tv’s. There’s smoking and non smoking rooms. Decent bathrooms. Shower gets hot so that’s a plus. And I believe most of not all rooms come with a mini fridge.
Walkability: Easy to walk to and not far from the bus or train station.
Food and drinks: Tons of places to eat nearby”
“Stayed for one night in September and we had a great night sleep! The train is right outside the main door but the noise really didn't bother us. The front desk workers were all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good. Located just a short walk from the Bronx zoo and it was wonderful! The hallways do smell of something but the room was very clean and did not smell at all.”

“This past May 2024, I had to spend one night at that hotel.
Before heading to the hotel, I have read so many bad reviews, that I contacted my boss and we were considering canceling my one night stay there.
Long story short : the place is very decent and the many negative reviews are really unfair, if we ignore that they are about one year old or so.
The hotel is in an ordinary working class neighborhood of the Bronx, ie : ordinary fellow human beings trying their best to support their families and pay their bills. Try watching TV if you are looking for that drama and fear-dispensing often associated with "The Bronx".
In the morning, pleasant-personality 'Migdalia', was doing her best to juggle front desk duties and keeping the coffee stand inviting to the guests. She has been working there for 3 years.
In the lobby, there was a big family of observant muslims, which - in my opinion - gave the hotel an aura of being family-friendly.
I left my pickup truck parked in front of the hotel on the street, with valuable generators on its bed in plain view. In the morning, it remained unmolested.
For the record, I had mercy on the unopened box of kleenex and the towels : I took none with me !!!.

“The bed was clean in the bathroom was clean it was a small little hotel but they take good care of it and I'm happy for that and the TV work and the refrigerator work and the microwave work and AC work it is a nice place for you to go with your partner and have a good time and it's not expensive so I'm happy for that too keep up the good work

“Jocelyn was incredibly helpful when my car broke down on I-95. I was able to get a quiet room quickly, clean up, and get back on my way. She even called after check in,
to ensure everything was okay. The place was very clean. I had the chance to wash up quickly and then continue to work after fixing my car. If I break down again in the area, I’ll definitely come back—hahaha! Thank you, Jocelyn!”
