“An amazing old style real book store! They have a huge selection of used books and new best sellers arrive every day. The owners are extremely knowledgeable and offer excellent choices. I read 2 to 3 books a week and absolutely love this store. There is nothing like turning the pages of a real book!”
“Liz’s Book Bar is the chic, stylish cousin of the classic indie bookstore. Some bookstores lean a little gritty (which I can also love), but LBB is clean and polished while still feeling completely independent. People are friendly. I heard several people strike up conversations (with strangers, to be clear). At one point I overheard a woman recognize another woman from TikTok and they started chatting. That kind of thing felt very normal here.
I came in for a drink with a friend who lives in the neighborhood and it was such a great space that I ended up asking the owner if I could host my discussion group (20-40 people depending on the night). A couple months later I held my Sad Rich Girl Salon at LBB and it was wonderful. The staff was so helpful and warm. Gave us mics. Cleared the floor and setup chairs. (Honestly, this event was better run than several of my “official” tour stops arranged by my publishing team.)
There was also a really cute moment where I met a woman who follows me on IG and had read my book and just happened to be at LBB that night (total coincidence). She bought a copy for her friend and asked me to sign it. it was one of those serendipitous moments that happen all the time in nyc but still feels so movie-like.
Added bonus: LBB sold out my book for the event
I only wish I lived closer because I’d be here all the time.”

“Great variety of books across genres and geography. Very good selection for Arab Heritage Month, although I wish it was downstairs, closer to the main foot traffic.”
“i could get lost walking along these shelves. there's such variety, and each section blends so well with each other; even the staircase has a shelf lined with books! the space is a lot larger than it seems from the outside, and super cozy. the staff is also super nice. i didn't find any bargain book section, but the general selection was extremely vast and there was a cool vintage books section in the back!”

“As the name suggests this is a community bookstore! Great selection of books old and new, small but mighty even has a good kids/YA section. I’ve loved getting books here because of the vibe but most importantly the people working behind the counter! Each time I’ve asked a question they’ve had answers and recommendations for me. Hope you remain a neighborhood staple!”

“A very cute and affordable bookstore in a very cute area! They had such a wide range of books and genres available that it was hard to pick. I loved all of the staff picks as it helped with my choice and the book I got that was highly rated ended up being great! Will return!”
“I just can't get enough of Judica Place. The variety of books and Religious items, just keeps me coming back. I have purchased many books for my Rabbi's Children. I am on my third order. The younger Children enjoy and look forward to receiving the comic books. The older Children request mysteries. Everyone is happy, including me. The staff is helpful and friendly.”
“OMG, you guys! I just found the most amazing bookstore in Brooklyn! Freebird is like a treasure trove for book lovers! They have the most unique and rare books I've ever seen. I'm talking vintage pulp fiction, underground comics, and poetry that'll blow your mind. The owner is super knowledgeable and will hook you up with recs. Plus, the vibe is so cozy and chill, you'll wanna hang out all day. They even have a rad reading nook and host sick events. If you're a bookworm like me, you gotta check this spot out! 5 stars, hands down! ??”
“This is the place that I come to for all my Judaica. And I find that when I compare the price of an item I want to buy with other places on Kingston Ave, they always have the lowest price. Plus they are the nicest people. I come here because the customer service is great. And they are super helpful. I always get my mezuzos checked here. The service is quick. The mezuzos are always ready when they say they will be ready. And the price is right.”
“Businesses like this are what make Greenpoint so special. Archestratus is a rare gem that brings community together and creates an authentic place to shop, eat and hang in the neighborhood. I always pop in when I need a special gift for a friend or some fresh groceries for home. Paige is so sweet and creative and puts a lot of love into the space.”
“I’m not really a book girlie. I’ve had a hard time getting into reading and I do “collect” books that sorta sit on a single shelf. But being here literally pulled me in similar to a kid in a candy store. I was here for a friend and kept getting distracted by all the colorful names and covers. Will definitely be back.”
“It's so easy to order online and pick up here — and you feel much better about it than shopping at some huge retailer.Their book selection is small but mighty. And the staff — so helpful!”
“Placed an order for three books here (September), and they arrived in fantastic condition (October which was the expected timing they had told me) packaged so well and with the most utmost care I can ask for as a collector for this series! On the website, they did say it'll take about a month to come from Russia, which I was fine waiting for, and once it arrived at their store, they immediately sent me an email saying it would be shipped the same day to me.Overall, I am thrilled with the way they handled my order and would definitely order/visit the store again in the near future! I’m already looking to place another order again for my friend’s birthday.Thank you again!”
“Polish American grew up in the states. One of the nicest things was brining my Polish wife from Poland who was a bit homesick to a polish bookstore. My surprise is you find new books in stock that are hot in Poland and many others.”
