“This might have been the most enjoyable post office experience of our entire lives! DeeDee is excellent at customer service and patience. My husband and I needed digital fingerprints and saw this was one of the few in the area that can do it. We showed up without an appointment and they helped us right away. The digital capture machine wouldn’t accept my fingerprintd, kept getting errors and DeeDee pulled out hand lotion and hand sanitizer to see if that helped. She even offered me a bottle of water in case I was dehydrated. A bottle of water?!?! Are you kidding me??? My husband ships packages for work and has literally decades of experience in post offices and for sure they typically barely want to even look at you let alone offer you a bottle of water. lol. DeeDee persisted and we got it done! Highly recommend!”

They are only open two hours on Sat. mornings, but I discovered one year how much of an advantage it is to go here those last couple of weekends before Christmas!”

“A working staff member gave such clear and detailed instructions on how to package the parcel,from labeling the box with necessary information to taping it securely. After preparing it, they double checked all the details and quickly sealed it, making it ready to send. I was truly amazed by how efficiently the whole process was completed.

“My favorite local post office. Usually not too busy, I go here a lot. I like it better than downtown because there is a parking lot and (usually) shorter lines. The staff is friendly and helpful. The location is small but it's very convenient for anyone in the Lansingburgh area.”

“Patient, accommodating and friendly staff, particularly John. I had 3 priority mail packages to send and I was with my 2 year old so I was already anxious coming in. I prepared all packages at home and prefilled the customs forms (like I usually do) to make processing at the counter “easier and quick”. I’ve always had unpleasant experiences at the post office (Jessup, Maryland) when sending 2 or more packages and had in the past been told to call ahead to make an appointment due to the number of packages I had to send which was 2-4. These particular packages needed to be sent today and I was nervous coming in without an appointment and I had my 2 year old. I was first greeted by a lovely staff member whose name I wish I got. At the counter, John was warm, friendly, accommodating and more importantly, patient with me and my daughter. I can’t thank him enough. USPS at the Nott St location provided the best customer service experience and have gained a regular customer.”

“I visited this post office recently. It was in the afternoon, the weather was beautiful, and I just had to write this review due to the incredible customer service I received. Sue was extremely helpful, kind and went out of her way to answer my questions and help me understand what I needed to get my packages delivered. Personally I would not be happy if I were stuck inside on such a nice day but she had such a gracious demeanor while going about helping customers that I wanted to leave a review. Hossain who was working with her was also helpful and I am so thankful for their hard work. I am also thankful for the extended hours at this location (open Saturdays late and also on Sundays), which they make possible, and hope they are not taken for granted, and that they get recognized for what they do.”

Unfortunately- she had to babysit entitled, rude people during our transaction that felt their inability to read, wait in line and follow simple instructions needed to be everyone's problem but their own. Despite those realities, the employees consistently work hard to maintain the level of service customers expect. They remain patient, courteous, and professional even during busy periods, and it’s obvious they’re doing everything they can with the resources available.

I’ve always found the staff to be welcoming and genuinely helpful. Whether I’m mailing packages, purchasing stamps, or asking questions about postal services, they take the time to assist without making customers feel rushed. Maintaining quality customer service in a historic building with today’s operational demands can’t be easy, but they continue to represent the Postal Service well.

I also appreciate that the building remains an active part of downtown Troy rather than simply becoming another preserved landmark. It’s rewarding to see such a beautiful federal building continue serving the community while preserving its historical integrity. The architecture, craftsmanship, and sense of permanence remind visitors of a time when public investment resulted in buildings that became lasting civic treasures.
