“First off, I love "off the beaten path" places that are on the far-opposite side of the pretentious spectrum. This place is affectionately known by locals as "The Mogadore", which is synonymous with the North Pembroke hamlet where its located. Since I gravitate to dive bar type places, this would have gotten 5 stars if it weren't for their very limited menu and cash-only policy. Still, they're a solid 4 starts based on: Cozy atmosphere, friendly-as-can-be service, and their wings are nothing short of awesome (2nd best in county, I'm told!). French fries were darn good, and I also hear their Friday fish-fry is excellent as well. In summary, The Mogadore / North Pembroke Hotel is a local gem that has been around for 50 years or more, and that's because it keeps it simple and focuses on their strengths.”
“Was traveling with my husband and 18 month old daughter when we hit lake effect snow. It was so blinding that we had to pull off the highway for safety reasons and booked a very reasonable hotel room for a night here. The woman at the front desk was such a sweet person, and even brought us a pack-n-play crib and blankets for our baby to sleep safe and sound all night. Room was clean. Only downside was no breakfast; just coffee. But there is a Tim Hortons down the road! This hotel was a lifesaver! Good experience. :)”
