“I don’t understand why some people made bad comments. I’m glad USPS is still around to compete the private companies like UPS and FedEx. Some people are stupid to even say such complaints. I use USPS service often. They are always helpful and considerate. Listen customers , sometimes you are the problem. Some people have high expectations, they want high class mail service and a happy ending too for the price of a pack of peanuts.”
“I always ship my packages from this location. I have never had a problem. Great staff and Great service. Sometimes there is a line but, it goes quickly. There are plenty of parking spaces in the lot.”

“I've never had an issue here. Mostly just drop off packages. I appreciate that the dropbox is always working, there are a lot of usps places that have it fill up and get locked, then you have to go on line. I did go on line once or twice for mailing things and the employees were always helpful and courteous.”

“Small Post Office and Understaffed it seems every time I go there. Which is fine...its OK. There is always an older women there with short hair. Positive attitude and pleasant no matter how ignorant, arrogant and/or inpatient people are. SHE IS THE MVP!Also I have had issues with packages in the past not getting there when they should as of lately (understandable consdering the times) and tacking information not being updated on the website. I call the store with tracking info and they go above and beyond calling plants to find out where the package is and calling me back with updates!Staff at this store A++++ lucky to call them my local/home PO.”
“I am not from Islip, but from Queens, NY and was visiting a relative. I lost my receipt but two weeks ago, I was sending a package out to Florida, for my niece's birthday. Postal Clerk Mary attended me, as I walked in. She was engaging, warm and asked all the pertinent questions related to my shipment. She even asked if I needed stamps and I had forgotten, that I DID NEED stamps!I wish every Clerk in the US Post Office was as endearing, proficient and professional as: MARYI'm sorry I lost the receipt but I hope someone on the job or neighbor sees this post and that it brightens MARY'S day, as she did mine.”

“I would not believe a review that starts with "This is the worst post office in Suffolk County" unless you believe said person visited the well over 100 post offices in Suffolk County. Hardly ever a line, staff is always courteous and friendly. Would not blame them for following federal regulations or a delay that happened on the road probably in another state.”
“I've been going to this post office since 1998. The staff over the years have always been helpful and nice. Even during the toughest times of the year such as April15 tax deadline, and holidays were they are a bit tired and drained from some of the customers which I had seen ahead of me be not so nice, the employees still are kind.I did see someone write a review they were there 5 mins before closing and doors were locked. Maybe it was the one day they closed early. Maybe the person that wrote the review watch was fast. Any which way, I still think the customer service is excellent !”

She explains everything in detail (had a international shipment to do, and it was my first time sending one), patiently, and does a amazing job. To me, they care and do an amazing job. Thanks guys. “I am beyond grateful for the outstanding service I received today. I was trying to send a package and I was struggling with getting the package ready and trying to care for my two little ones. It was becoming impossible. Just when I was about to give up and try a different day the women who were working saw me struggling and helped me right away. There were two women who came around the counter and brought out toys for my little ones , I believe their names were Careen and Jeanette. Jeanette helped entertain my little ones while another women named Hani got my package already to ship. There are no words to describe how incredibly thankful I am for the love that was shown today. They worked together as a team to lend a helping out to me. I will forever be grateful.”
“My family and I moved to Bay Shore 4 years ago, we've met a lot of friendly people but the BEST of all was our postman "Craig" he's professional and courteous, always has a charming smile, and most of all handles our package and mail with care. We've had other post people in between and they some times they'll put our mail in someone else mailbox, and I've found other people's mail in our mailbox... But with Craig I got my mail. He occasionally stops and play with my dogs, Craig has a huge heart great personality. You can tell he enjoys his job, Bay Shore Post Office is blessed the have a worker like Craig. “I love coming here. Mike is the nicest guy working up front. Always kind and welcoming. The scale didn’t work the other day so I left my boxes there for him to scan after things got fixed and he was nice enough to send a receipt to me in the mail. Thank you Mike! “I can't say enough about Susana at this location who went way above and beyond helping me with a critical situation. An error was made in addressing a package when someone moved and some very important documents were lost. Susana took control of the situation in an expedient, patient, caring and professional manner. It was amazing that in a facility which handles so much mail every day she was able to locate the package and promptly get it to its correct destination. Susana was humble and acted as if she did it every day and just shrugged it off. Meanwhile, on the other end of the phone all I could think of was Superwoman. I hope that this is put in her employee file and at her next review is remembered. I also hope she is considered at the next review for employee of the month. She certainly has my vote. Thank you again Susana. You will always be the Superwoman of Smithtown to me.”

“Super friendly staff, the place was a little busy but that's to be expected this time of year. The lady behind the counter made sure to help me make the right choice in shipping my package, giving me multiple options. The location itself could probably use an update, but given it's a government agency that probably won't happen for another 10 years.”
“I had to mail something for college and the recipient says they never got it. Now I'm struggling to get this issue resolved on the college side because USPS lost my mail. It was at this location specifically and I asked the clerk at the desk multiple times to confirm everything and they still lost my mail.Edit: Was not actually lost, was just delivered a week late. Apologies for my previous outburst, but that one week delay still caused me a few problems.”
“There are 5 counter available, at the time 3 counter was open. They moved the line at a good pace. The postal office is a rectangular shape post office.There is free - 10 minutes - street parking available by the post office.”

“I don't think the problem is with the Post Office workers. I think the problem is with the customers who flock to this location overwhelming the staff. Especially those who go there for things other than mailing a package/letters or getting money orders. There are plenty of other avenues to buy stamps, get passports than waste the time of these fine people. We need this location for important tasks instead. Those who want passports can go to public libraries, other government offices as well. Do some critical thinking for once and improvise.”
