“I don’t understand why some people made bad comments. I’m glad USPS is still around to compete the private companies like UPS and FedEx. Some people are stupid to even say such complaints. I use USPS service often. They are always helpful and considerate. Listen customers , sometimes you are the problem. Some people have high expectations, they want high class mail service and a happy ending too for the price of a pack of peanuts.”
“I always find the service at this location excellent. The people working here are friendly, informative, and work quickly to keep the line moving. Even when I arrive to a long line, I never have to wait very long, and the representatives working the counter are always professional and courteous, even when very busy.”
“Great experience in getting the chance to mail a Package to a loved one. Would use them over and over again. However the Automated system does not recognize certain commands to allow me to speak to someone about prices for mailing a package.”
“I've never had an issue here. Mostly just drop off packages. I appreciate that the dropbox is always working, there are a lot of usps places that have it fill up and get locked, then you have to go on line. I did go on line once or twice for mailing things and the employees were always helpful and courteous.”

“I am not from Islip, but from Queens, NY and was visiting a relative. I lost my receipt but two weeks ago, I was sending a package out to Florida, for my niece's birthday. Postal Clerk Mary attended me, as I walked in. She was engaging, warm and asked all the pertinent questions related to my shipment. She even asked if I needed stamps and I had forgotten, that I DID NEED stamps!I wish every Clerk in the US Post Office was as endearing, proficient and professional as: MARYI'm sorry I lost the receipt but I hope someone on the job or neighbor sees this post and that it brightens MARY'S day, as she did mine.”

“I am beyond grateful for the outstanding service I received today. I was trying to send a package and I was struggling with getting the package ready and trying to care for my two little ones. It was becoming impossible. Just when I was about to give up and try a different day the women who were working saw me struggling and helped me right away. There were two women who came around the counter and brought out toys for my little ones , I believe their names were Careen and Jeanette. Jeanette helped entertain my little ones while another women named Hani got my package already to ship. There are no words to describe how incredibly thankful I am for the love that was shown today. They worked together as a team to lend a helping out to me. I will forever be grateful.”
“My family and I moved to Bay Shore 4 years ago, we've met a lot of friendly people but the BEST of all was our postman "Craig" he's professional and courteous, always has a charming smile, and most of all handles our package and mail with care. We've had other post people in between and they some times they'll put our mail in someone else mailbox, and I've found other people's mail in our mailbox... But with Craig I got my mail. He occasionally stops and play with my dogs, Craig has a huge heart great personality. You can tell he enjoys his job, Bay Shore Post Office is blessed the have a worker like Craig. “There are 5 counter available, at the time 3 counter was open. They moved the line at a good pace. The postal office is a rectangular shape post office.There is free - 10 minutes - street parking available by the post office.”
“Super friendly staff, the place was a little busy but that's to be expected this time of year. The lady behind the counter made sure to help me make the right choice in shipping my package, giving me multiple options. The location itself could probably use an update, but given it's a government agency that probably won't happen for another 10 years.”
“I don't think the problem is with the Post Office workers. I think the problem is with the customers who flock to this location overwhelming the staff. Especially those who go there for things other than mailing a package/letters or getting money orders. There are plenty of other avenues to buy stamps, get passports than waste the time of these fine people. We need this location for important tasks instead. Those who want passports can go to public libraries, other government offices as well. Do some critical thinking for once and improvise.”

“Who goes to post office anymore but sometimes you have to I’ve been here to drop aparcels for Amazon and mainly we’ve been here for the kids passports. The staff here was very friendly with us when they did the passport application. pictures always take time so you have to go through the pain of taking the pictures again and again and again, but They were very patient with us. My children are blind some of them and it is hard to position them for the passport pictures but these people were very cooperative and I’m very thankful to them.”
“My package was accidentally delivered to the wrong house. I called, spoke quickly to a very nice gentleman, Anthony I believe, he looked it up, saw the problem and said he’d tell the delivery person and I’d have my package soon.
