About Henry L Ferguson Museum
The mission of The Henry L. Ferguson Museum is the collection, preservation and exhibition of items of Prehistory, History and Natural History of Fishers Island and, through its Land Trust, the preservation in perpetuity of undeveloped property in its natural state. It is organized for the education and enjoyment of the Island’s community and visitors and for the protection of habitat for the Island’s flora and fauna.

Charming! Small museum packed with information about the history, geology and creatures of Fishers Island. Also has an exhibit with the sketches of Charles Ferguson, son of museum’s namesake. Definitely worth a stop. Entrance is by donation.

My husband and I were so pleasantly surprised with how much information was in this museum. Pierce, the Director of the museum spent a lot of time with us answering all of our questions. It really made Fishers Island come alive for us.
