About Commonpoint Queens' Central Queens (Formerly known as Central Queens Y)
Commonpoint Queens, formerly known as Central Queens Y, is a vital community organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for individuals and families throughout Queens. It offers a wide range of services focused on entertainment, education, sports, and wellness for people of all ages, ability levels, and backgrounds. The organization is committed to fostering creativity, perseverance, and learning among youth through various programs and partnerships with local schools. Facilities include a pool, gym, and locker rooms, though some areas face challenges such as overcrowding, dust, and limited amenities. The pool is well-maintained and affordable, with helpful staff, but occasional management issues and poor staff responses have caused some dissatisfaction. The locker rooms are small and crowded, with some members using the sauna as a laundry space. Fitness areas sometimes feel dusty, and certain classes are considered low quality or boring by some members. Despite these issues, many appreciate the organization’s dedication to community service and the variety of activities available. The staff generally responds quickly to questions, and the programs, especially those for children, aim to teach valuable skills like perseverance and acceptance. Overall, Commonpoint Queens remains a valued community hub, providing accessible services and opportunities for growth and connection.
The price of the seim lessons are fair and the instructors are good but sometimes they do chat with other instructors instead of focusing on the lesson. Not to mention the lessons are supposed to be 50mins long but they end it by 10 mins early. Hope you're reading this and make some changes.

Commonpoint Queens is a critical institution in the area, offering tons of services for the community. I provide entertainment and education for youth and they have proven committed to bringing creativity and the arts into the schools they work with. I’m grateful to have them as a partner!

As a member for around 6 years, this is a good place for kids to learn many sports! The teachers taught us to persevere and accept our mistakes. The teachers are very nice as well.
