MANITOGA / The Russel Wright Design Center is a wonderful, magical, and one of a kind place. It is the House, Studio and 75-acre landscape of American industrial designer Russel Wright, located in Garrison, New York. It is a National Historic Landmark and a special place offering a wonderful reprieve, perfect for a cloudy day. It hosts powerful energy to learn from and connect with nature.
It is a great and inspiring outing, really worthwhile and highly recommended. Visitors can take a Design - Art - Nature Tour or enjoy a Mosses & Wildflower walk. The team and tour guides are truly kind, knowledgeable, and fantastic, explaining everything thoroughly. The site sometimes features artist installations. Access to the House is by appointment or advance tour reservation only from mid-May through mid-November. The woodland trails are open for hiking only from mid-November through mid-May, year round during daylight hours. It is lovely for design and architecture enthusiasts.
This tour is a must if you are spending any time in the area. The beautiful property designed by Russel Wright is in itself worth the tour, the mid-century house is outstanding, and of course Russel Wright was a giant in the design field.

A really spectacular place to visit. The home itself is incredible and iconic, and the grounds with the quarry pond and cliffs and wooded glades are lovely. The guide was very friendly and knowledgeable and we got a really good background about the builder and the process of building the house itself.
