“I love going to planet fitness and working out! Tons of equipment. I use both the regular and hydromassage chairs after my workout and then tan. I've tried to use the total body enhancement machine but can't seem to figure it out so I wind up only doing red light therapy and not the vibrations. My devices won't connect to the total body enhancement machine for music but I always have an awesome time when I'm there.”

“I started going to Metabolic 5 months ago and I am absolutely in love! I never really worked out before, but as my 40th birthday was approaching I felt challenged to do something different. I previously had a membership to a traditional gym but I didn’t have the discipline to keep going. But my friend was going here for a while and her results were so impressive so I decided to try it. I’m so glad I did. This is the best thing I’ve ever done for myself. My family probably hates it because I won’t shut up about it! It’s been so great for my self esteem (and my body obviously). Plus the coaches are wonderful- they make sure that every class is a challenge, but they’re also careful to ensure that your form is right and you’re not lifting too much so you don’t injure yourself. And I can tell that they count my success as their success. Worth every penny!!!”

“My experience at Inferno has been out of this world awesome. I've had the opportunity to work out here and learn so much from each of the trainers as well as get to know them personally. Firstly, the gym is clean and they have a variety of equipment. They put a lot of effort into making the gym a great atmosphere and they have succeeded. Secondly, the owners Stephanie and Michael are intelligent and professional. They know what they're doing. When they program they take into consideration their clients and past workouts so the classes continue to be fun and challenging. Lastly, the people who work here are sincere. They care about their people. The community is wonderful, almost instantly you can see the friendships that have grown and thrived in this gym. I love this place and would recommend it to anyone no matter their level or knowledge of exercise. You will grow here and learn. With the security of knowing the trainers are top notch, and with the variety of classes that Inferno provides, there is no doubt that you will succeed at and enjoy this gym!”

“I started with Taylor at age 50. I had never worked with a personal trainer prior to this. The results have been amazing. friends and family have noticed a difference. The workouts are tailored to my abilities. I look forward to my two 30-minute sessions per week. I have continually gained strength and endurance. I'm doing things I couldn't do in my 30's. “This is a purist, no-frills powerlifter gym. Great selection of free weights, Olympic weights, & machines. (This is the only place I’ve seen 200lb dumbbells). Their membership cost structure is gloriously straightforward & incredibly reasonable. They do day passes without trying to trick you into a commitment. My favorite gym. But if you’re looking for sterile, shiny equipment and VIP membership packages maybe this isn’t the gym for you”

“I started with a trial at this gym hoping I would be able to pop over after work as it is close to my job. The inside is beautiful, very well organized, and inviting! The owner Nora is super knowledgeable, and was very helpful through the entire consultation and booking process. My work schedule ended up being tougher to manage than I expected and she was extremely understanding and accommodating to help me in any way possible! The other coaches I met were great and did not hesitate to help me any time I needed it in the gym. If you are looking for a all girls gym with a super positive environment this is the gym for you!”

“I was a beginner to any kind of fitness. And I made the best decision to join Albany CrossFit.Coaches taught the fundamentals of CrossFit, posture and basic nutrition which I was never aware of. “I started working out here back in June 2021 after I moved to the area. I was worried I wouldn't find a gym I loved as much as my previous gym but man, these guys are awesome! CF Beyond changed ownership and moved down the street and since then they've been continuously adding more equipment to their facility as they figure out how to maximize their new space. Every coach is knowledgable and attentive to their members during class. They host different events at the gym to foster community and the families involved are great. Highly recommend 10/10.”

“It's hard to imagine how any business could have perfect reviews on Yelp and be legit, at least that was what we thought before coming here. But it only took one class for us to be hooked and understand why people love it so much. This is such a wonderful environment, regardless of what you're looking for. There are legit boxers here that I wouldn't want to go up against, and there are newbies like me with no clue what they're doing. There's coaching and personal training available, fitness classes every day, boot camp classes a couple times each week, and as I understand it, they even have a special class for elderly clients with dementia. You will not feel self-conscious here, you will feel surrounded by people looking to better themselves and/or expand their knowledge of boxing, from every age range, every demographic and every skill level. The common thread is that from the members to the instructors everyone is kind, caring and encouraging. You won't be pushed beyond what you can handle, you'll be appropriately nudged to give it all you can. No one will berate you if you take a break, you get out of it what you put in. No one will expect you to be Muhammad Ali, you'll be coached and advised where you are based on your own goals and skill level. We're total converts, and we're not even "gym people". If you're on the fence, go to one class and you'll be hooked!”

“A good place for the whole RPI community to get their body in shape and refresh mind. Though some of the equipments are sometimes out of order, but the overall 3 level gym is quite spacious to accommodate your needs. The ground floor mainly focuses on weight machines, 1st floor has cardio, 2nd floor is mainly for different club activities, like zumba dance, karate.”

“Nate is great! Was staying at a local hotel where the facilities were less than accomodating, I walked in and Nate took care of me immediately. Great facilities :) PS this is underneath the plaza fountains, head into a building and head down to the concourse level where you'll see the massive signage for the gym.”

“SEFCU gym is decent for the free gym for UAlbany students. However, machines are often OOO and rather than fixing it, they just put up tape for months and eventually bin the machine. The weights on the new bench press also don’t match the current weights. They need to fix their broken mirrors and clear out the vents because there’s very visible dust on all the vents. Also, poor ventilation / no fans to help facilitate airflow.”
