“I have been with South Towne Veterinary Hospital for Over 30 years and 4 pets and I am still very happy with them. Even though the doctors have changed during that time, my pets still receives the same level of care as they always have. I have never had them push a test or procedure that made me feel like they were just looking for the money. I fell that they honestly want what is best for my pet. I trust them and would recommend them.”
“My family has been coming to Brighton animal hospital since I was 8 years old. I’m 74 now and still bring my german shepherd, Stella, there. I have no doubt that all my dogs and cats have received the best care possible. Great staff that understands how important our pets are to us. Dr Mike Foley ( retired now), Dr Miner and Dr Peter VanVankias have taken great care of my dogs and cats. Shout out to Dawn, Lisa and Tracy too.
Dr Hawkins operated recently on Stella when we thought she had cancer. It was a complex surgery and included spaying as well as tumor removal and was 100% successful. The BEST part of this was when Dr Hawkins called about the pathology report, which was negative for cancer. She sounded so happy and excited to be giving me the good news. Stella wasn’t just “another dog”.
I wouldn’t go anywhere else.”

“Dr.Smith was amazing, he really took the time to do a very thorough examination on my sick kitty. Even when he was just talking to us he was still comforting her and giving her love. She was extremely comfortable with him. Him and the vet tech were great at explaining the next steps how to administer her new medications and going over the prices for upcoming scans. My dad who came with me was so impressed by everything that he is in the process of switching his dogs to this vet as well! Thank you so much for helping my kitty feel more comfortable!”
“There are not enough stars to rate Penfield Veterinary Clinic. They are a 10 out of 10. The clerical staff, technicians & doctors are excellent in every way. Dr.Erik Herrema has been treating my Corgi who was diagnosed with Cushings & Diabetes. His communication, diagnostic testing & treatment plan literally saved my previous dog’s life. The kind, caring response by the front desk is exceptional. The techs are friendly and reassuring. Dr. Herrema is extremely knowledgeable, and does not hesitate to provide excellent guidance with treatment options & plans. I highly recommend this practice for your pets needs. You will find excellence in every way.”
“This experience sealed the deal with me leaving a review here. Someone thought of the creative idea to put one of my ferrets in the bag I brought with them (for the record, it was very funny). I didn’t leave their carrier with them and they plopped him right on top of his bedding in the bag and zipped it up. What a funny surprise! He was apparently surprisingly content in there too lol.
Every experience I’ve had here has been great. The front of house is always very friendly, the techs are nice and can answer most of my questions, and Dr Hach has always been very thorough with my furry kiddos. Very happy at this vets office!”

We were met with compassion and respect from the moment he was brought in from the parking lot on a gurney until we sadly had to leave without him. We were able to take our time in a private room to say goodbyes, and I was able to stay with him while he passed peacefully. Every step of the process was done with kindness, respect, and compassion. My family and I cannot thank you enough for making a very difficult time a little bit easier.”

She does not order unnecessary tests and does her homework prior to appointments. There is no better vet in the Rochester area.

“the staff here really go above and beyond. the primary veterinarian has worked with me for about a year on giving my cat a proper diagnosis and treatment plan, and even today on a saturday i had a bit of a medication emergency. i ordered his medication online and he has been out of it for the past few days. after coming home last night i saw him drooling like he was when the shelter rescued him, and immediately rang stone ridge in the morning to see if there was any way they had his medication in stock and if i could pick it up today. thank god they did and they held it for me until i got there to pick it up.

“I have full faith and confidence in all Doctors here. They are professional, down-to-earth, knowledgable, and compassionate. We followed Dr. Hubbard here from her previous location and have been working with her for over 20 years. They truly care about our pets and take the time to get to know them and us as owners. They are incredibly responsive and knowledgeable. The entire staff is compassionate and caring and treats us with respect. We have worked with them for pets as kittens and puppy to geriatric stages and end of life, from well-pet visits to minor surgeries to emergency situations and I can't think of one time that we were disappointed. I believe the prices to be comparable to other animal hospitals based on what I have heard. They are now part of Thrive. I was initially concerned about this change to a corporate structure, but we have seen no difference in quality of care or of the local vet feel. We joined Thrive Plus and prices are more reasonable.
We are “those pet parents” who take our animals’ health seriously and worry a lot about them. We have never been made to feel anything but appreciated for our questions and need for clarity.
Our dog has a lot of anxiety issues and they have been wonderful with him and with working with us to make his experiences as smooth as possible.”

They have been accurate with treatment plans, diagnosis, and really kind and gentle hands. Personally, I do not love that the Thrive network came into Rochester, but it's certainly not the fault of these providers.”
