About Ithaca Neighborhood Housing Services (INHS)
Ithaca Neighborhood Housing Services (INHS) is a community that shows love and compassion to its tenants. The staff supports tenants in difficult times, making them feel like part of a community. As a housing service, INHS provides great services and support to people who want to buy a house. The financial parameters for the INHS program can be limiting, but they change the lives of people who would not be able to purchase a home without their help. The education department at INHS offers a fantastic program that provides a solid foundation of knowledge about purchasing a first home. This program is open to anyone and makes buyers more prepared, confident, and less intimidated by the process. INHS also builds and leases high-quality rental apartments to lower-income families, providing them with safe and affordable housing. Overall, INHS is an important part of increasing housing equity in the community and does the best they can with what they have. They have been assisting thousands of families since the late 1970s.

I have worked with them a few times over the years; my main transaction with them was ~10 years ago with their first time homebuyer program and interest free loan to help with a down payment. At that time, I found them to be very helpful; not sure how they are doing these days though...
