“the most special little pocket of a craft store i had ever hoped to find. forget michael's, artist & craftsman supply has an immense variety of what you need to make art, and you'll be supporting small business! i went in just for some spools of embroidery thread, and not only did they have a huge spectrum of colors, but i must have left with two armfuls of craft supplies - as someone who loves to always be creating new things, that's how i know I'll be coming back forever!!”
“My fav type of craft shop; hold the frills, has all the goods w/ crafty community members at the counter who are excited to help u bring your project to fruition. Will be returning! Got my eye on the little origami kits at least hehe look so fun”
“I had framework done by Jenny and had a wonderful experience from beginning to end. The finished product truly brought me to tears! The quality is top notch and the turnaround time was impressive, especially so considering it was during the holiday season. I highly recommend KC Arts and look forward to using them for my framing needs in the future.”
“The customer service is Amazing. when I come im always greeted with a smile and great conversation . I will also support this black owned business . Every item that I purchased from Letty B creations has been phenomenal.”
“Super fair prices for an independent art store (and even some steals!). They offer some supplies that are hard to find at big art stores, and there’s even have some places to try out certain supplies. The staff is very friendly and the music in the store is great. It’s getting harder to find local art shops like these, which makes Sunnyside Arts all the more special. I look forward to coming back!”

“I have been consistently impressed by the quality of Barronarts' custom panels, which I've been ordering regularly since early 2020. After fifteen years of painting on a number of different supports, the Sintra (PVC) surface is a revelation: it's archival, rigid, smooth, durable, and lightweight. Did I mention affordable? I recently ordered some custom poplar floater frames to fit around my medium sized paintings and was very satisfied with the results. The Barronarts team even sent me some free frame finish samples to keep in my studio to refer to and show to clients. Jeffrey Barron is always highly attentive to my needs and extremely responsive over phone and email, a true professional (and solid human being). I wholeheartedly recommend Barronarts for working artists of all stripes!”
“I have never taken a class, but have purchased materials and tools. This place has a great selection. you can also take your time and really look. the employees are hit or miss. Actually I think it was one employee who pretended to help me but then ignored me, thankfully there was a way more attentive employee willing to help me out but she didn't know anything about what I was looking for so she had to grab someone who was working in one of the sculpting rooms- she called him a few times while i was there. I wish I got his name because it was clear he was busy but he took time to talk with and really help me out. Honestly that guy alone is worth a five star review but I'm keeping it at four incase he's not there and you end up dealing with the girl who ignores you”
“I always go to this Blick Art Materials shop to get any art supplies that I need. If the item is inside the locker, I would tell the employee to open the locker. Very good customer service.”
“Dope this is dope spot. I always try to stop here and spend a lil money when I'm passin thru gentrified Bushwick. Every single time, there's a different worker.. but they're all knowledgeable and dope. Even had to tell one a few days ago how cute she was. Few days ago, I even bumped into BLAKMAN NODU outside the store. IYKYK.”
“Highly recommend framing at Art World! I brought two pieces of art that needed to be framed. I just received them and could not be happier with the way the framing came out. Teri spent time to help find the best frame style and color for both art pieces. Teri is super talented, experienced and has a great eye.I have learned that the right frame can really enhance the art! I plan to return to frame more artwork in the future.”

“TALAS is an excellent company, run by kind, smart, helpful people who care about the products they sell. I have worked with them for many years, and think of turning to no one else when I have a technical materials issues and/or when I need to source the best and conservation-level approved products. They are the best.”
“Everyone is so kind here!! Their shop is delightfully packed with wonderful things! I can walk in with a vague idea and find the things I need to bring it into fruition. Staff is knowledgable and helpful. I really look forward to coming in and using what I find! I'd rather spend my money at this business than at a Target any day.”
“I gotta say this place is a time capsule it has really cool old school trucks, trains, busses, boats, planes and anime stuff too like Gundum star track star wars etc... and the old man is really cool... soo go there and show some love.”

“Super helpful staff! Very quick and easy experience in getting our wedding invitations done. Thank you Vanessa for the dedication to perfect our invitations. Would recommend them for invitations and helping through the process to customize and perfect everything.”
“Love stopping by this neighborhood shop. Great selection of all kinds of puzzles, art supplies, stationery, and small toys.
Nice place to browse creative items. Everything feels well chosen. Thanks for being here!”
“I’m a long-time customer of Guerra Paint and Pigment. The materials they sell are superb and really allow me freedom to expand creativity in my painting. The owners and staff are equally wonderful. I make a point to make an in-person pilgrimage whenever I’m in NYC. Highly recommended.”
“Stopped in to get a frame and was helped by Jeremy. He was so helpful and patient as we looked through various frames together. He even helped me put the wire on the frame. Glad I went into the store instead of trying to order online!”
“This small space has a shocking amount of art supplies. Hot glue sticks, foam core boards in several sizes, drawing pads etc. They also carry hula hoops all year. Do you know how hard it is to find a hula hoop in the winter? This place is the greatest. Shop local!”
“I would like to extend a huge shout out to the team at BLICK for helping me Get my pieces ready for art expo, New York last month. My recent trip there was incredible, but also very nerve-racking, Raluca, Nina, and Jessica Saved the day by hitting the ground running on a last-minute request I had. I literally called them from the airport to see if they were able to do some same day framing for me. Their ability to help me out, even though they had an extremely mounting workload already, Is a gift that I will never forget. Not only Where my piece is ready before the show, but the Craftsmanship was Flawless. The BLICK flagship store is one of the most beautiful establishments that I’ve ever walked into! I cannot wait to work with his team again, of course, with way more notice this time. I highly suggest visiting this location if you are ever in town or just live in New York. They really appreciate the arts, and there are some amazing artists there as well. Thank you again so much!!!!”
“I’m from Las Vegas but as I have had an extended work trip, I’ve been so grateful to have access to Blicks and staff is so friendly and helpful! Keeping my creativity alive while I experience the grind of the city has been imperative. ESSENTIAL BUSINESS!!”

“An additional 4 more...on top of the 7.Just picked up another 7 True Stretchers from Simon, extra thick L-sides and thicker rails widths. These are Excellent and so well made and strong as ever. I prepare my own RAW linen; but Simon can do this as well, and is Master craftsman.Simon's stretchers are perfect, just to be clear they close perfectly tight, and once stretched canvas is attached, the keying out allows for perfect control of the canvas weave, as warp and weft expand differently. to have that control is so important.his keys provided always fit perfectly, the cross bars if any are wonderful. he even makes foldable stretchers to get into smaller elevators and trucks. for both the beginner and expert.Hi. Some additional comments. The first photo I added might be confusing...but really it shows that the stretcher can be adjusted to fit an exact size of the canvas edge. Say an artist makes a design and the edges are very important to line up to exact size.A real expandable stretcher can be adjusted to fit perfectly. Simon's company has been making stretcher for me since 1992 I think. He can do anything...he can make strainers (but why would an artist use an strainer? Stretchers are so far superior and don't cost much...Simon is Not Expensive. They are perfect worth much more that he charges.A person can make their own .... stretcher and even real stretchers ...but it will likely cost more than anything Simon makes.Remember true stretchers expand and adjust in many ways...just as every piece of canvas expands in different ways. I have stretched and attached 10's of thousands of canvases to wooden supports. I have a good idea what is well made. ... Simon's.”
“Very cool little shop. Was able to get some stamps made in just a couple minutes from the book of pre made stamps. Good price for such a cool little piece of a dying art.”
“I've had multiple paintings framed and they've both come beautiful! One was a handpainted piece I brought back from India and he did an impeccable job at such a good price. Highly recommend.”
“I have had many of my art pieces, both large and small, framed here over the past couple of years. They always do an incredible job - the craftsmanship is high quality and the prices are competitive. I love working with Freddy and Hassan and always trust my artwork in their hands.”
“Oooh, Art Retail Therapy Shop! A fun, lively space with a room to make art and also buy art supplies, art books and all kinds of random stuff for creatives. Be sure to stop by if you’re in this part of Queens. The owners are super cool. LOVE IT!!!”
