“I had framework done by Jenny and had a wonderful experience from beginning to end. The finished product truly brought me to tears! The quality is top notch and the turnaround time was impressive, especially so considering it was during the holiday season. I highly recommend KC Arts and look forward to using them for my framing needs in the future.”
“My fav type of craft shop; hold the frills, has all the goods w/ crafty community members at the counter who are excited to help u bring your project to fruition. Will be returning! Got my eye on the little origami kits at least hehe look so fun”
“We had a group of 15 kids ages 4-9 and made a booking to come in a day prior! The worker was an absolute angel and had amazing patience with all the kids. We had a GREAT time on a rainy day. We would absolutely return.”

“I have been consistently impressed by the quality of Barronarts' custom panels, which I've been ordering regularly since early 2020. After fifteen years of painting on a number of different supports, the Sintra (PVC) surface is a revelation: it's archival, rigid, smooth, durable, and lightweight. Did I mention affordable? I recently ordered some custom poplar floater frames to fit around my medium sized paintings and was very satisfied with the results. The Barronarts team even sent me some free frame finish samples to keep in my studio to refer to and show to clients. Jeffrey Barron is always highly attentive to my needs and extremely responsive over phone and email, a true professional (and solid human being). I wholeheartedly recommend Barronarts for working artists of all stripes!”
“I always go to this Blick Art Materials shop to get any art supplies that I need. If the item is inside the locker, I would tell the employee to open the locker. Very good customer service.”
“Dope this is dope spot. I always try to stop here and spend a lil money when I'm passin thru gentrified Bushwick. Every single time, there's a different worker.. but they're all knowledgeable and dope. Even had to tell one a few days ago how cute she was. Few days ago, I even bumped into BLAKMAN NODU outside the store. IYKYK.”

“TALAS is an excellent company, run by kind, smart, helpful people who care about the products they sell. I have worked with them for many years, and think of turning to no one else when I have a technical materials issues and/or when I need to source the best and conservation-level approved products. They are the best.”

“Love to come visit my friends at P&P shipping. I come here a lot to ship items out for my small business. Sajit is always a welcomed sight, very helpful, professional and loves to have a laugh. They also have all the shipping supplies you need in store. Plus art, office and much more supplies for sale. Highly recommend their services, they will go above and beyond any FedEx, UPS or USPS store.”

“An additional 4 more...on top of the 7.Just picked up another 7 True Stretchers from Simon, extra thick L-sides and thicker rails widths. These are Excellent and so well made and strong as ever. I prepare my own RAW linen; but Simon can do this as well, and is Master craftsman.Simon's stretchers are perfect, just to be clear they close perfectly tight, and once stretched canvas is attached, the keying out allows for perfect control of the canvas weave, as warp and weft expand differently. to have that control is so important.his keys provided always fit perfectly, the cross bars if any are wonderful. he even makes foldable stretchers to get into smaller elevators and trucks. for both the beginner and expert.Hi. Some additional comments. The first photo I added might be confusing...but really it shows that the stretcher can be adjusted to fit an exact size of the canvas edge. Say an artist makes a design and the edges are very important to line up to exact size.A real expandable stretcher can be adjusted to fit perfectly. Simon's company has been making stretcher for me since 1992 I think. He can do anything...he can make strainers (but why would an artist use an strainer? Stretchers are so far superior and don't cost much...Simon is Not Expensive. They are perfect worth much more that he charges.A person can make their own .... stretcher and even real stretchers ...but it will likely cost more than anything Simon makes.Remember true stretchers expand and adjust in many ways...just as every piece of canvas expands in different ways. I have stretched and attached 10's of thousands of canvases to wooden supports. I have a good idea what is well made. ... Simon's.”
“I've had multiple paintings framed and they've both come beautiful! One was a handpainted piece I brought back from India and he did an impeccable job at such a good price. Highly recommend.”

“Super helpful and friendly staff. More geared towards education level supplies but definitely have a substantial selection of professional grade supplies as well. Will return.”
“I've tried almost every tube and they're all good. But some have more pigmentation than any paint I've ever owned and I've tried most brands. Also, several have a unique texture that you won't find in other brands.”

“I had a great experience with this picture frame store. The quality of the frames is excellent, and you can really tell they pay attention to detail. The staff was friendly and helpful, guiding me through different styles and helping me choose the perfect frame for my photo .”
“I've been here about ten times during 2025-26. Always a great experience. Most recently, Jess helped me find everything on my long list - really quickly. She was friendly, knowledgeable, patient with my anxiety, and didn't push the Blick brand or anything that seemed unnecessarily expensive.
Also, Maria and her staff Tera and Xiao have helped me with a LOT of framing. They listen, ask good questions, and always work with my budget. Friendly, smart, and I'm always happy with their aesthetic choices when everything is up on my walls.
I like that someone always greets you when you enter the store, and again when you go downstairs.
Last week was the first and hopefully only time a contribution to buy art supplies for other people was suggested. The cashier was low key about it but it made me uncomfortable nonetheless. Blick, please rethink that policy.
Otherwise, great place.”

“Good to very good. I like Hallmark Gold Crown stores better but they are mostly suburban. Paper Source is more common in urban and upscale markets. Can be pricey.”
“If your looking for a great local art store, Apple art is perfect! However if your a pratt student looking for cheap supplies you should be a little more cautious. Prices vary wildly in comparison to Blick art supplies. Holbien Gouache, for example, is much cheaper at Apple art, but Apple art often will more expensive basics like charcoal pencils. Overall I try to shop more at Apple art because supporting local businesses is a good thing, and often the price difference isn't enough to justify one over the other.”
“the most special little pocket of a craft store i had ever hoped to find. forget michael's, artist & craftsman supply has an immense variety of what you need to make art, and you'll be supporting small business! i went in just for some spools of embroidery thread, and not only did they have a huge spectrum of colors, but i must have left with two armfuls of craft supplies - as someone who loves to always be creating new things, that's how i know I'll be coming back forever!!”
