“Pulled into this rural NY gas station/convenience store thinking it was gonna be a quick, normal stop. Gas, maybe a drink, in and out. That’s how it starts. That’s how they get you.
We walk in and it’s immediately clear… we are the only customers in this dimension.
No background noise. No chatter. Just the hum of a fridge that sounds like it’s thinking about quitting.
And there he is.
The clerk.
Leaning back in his chair like he’s been there since the founding of the United States. Not asleep. Not fully awake. Somewhere spiritually in between. I genuinely couldn’t tell if we were supposed to check out with him or just leave money on the counter like an offering.
We make eye contact for half a second and I swear he gave me the universal “I’ve seen things” look, then went right back to his reclined state like nothing had ever happened.
The store itself? Weirdly normal. Almost offensively normal. Like it’s trying to distract you from the fact that time is behaving differently inside.
We grab what we need, trying not to break the silence too aggressively. Every movement feels like it echoes a little too long.
Check out is fast. Too fast. Like the transaction was already pre-approved by fate.
We leave. No words exchanged. No emotional closure. Just vibes.
Would I go back? Yeah. Not because I want to… but because I feel like I left without fully understanding the lore.”

Gas Stations
“I've been visiting Narrowsburg for at least a decade and this has been my go to gas station. From what I recall, the pumps are a little slow but who cares. The scenery is beautiful and you get some time to enjoy the clean air.”
“Wade and Dale were great and did a great job on my old truck. Friendly service, solid communication, and reasonable prices. I will be using them again; hopefully not anything soon though.”
