Check in process smooth. Lady checking us in was kind and provided us with a complimentary cookie. We checked in early so we got an "upgrade" to the 36th floor where there was a room available. Right under the rooftop bar, yay! Sounds nice, until you find out the music goes on until 3 AM with dance beats so loud they make the cups in the room rattle. No ability to change room same night. Had an awful night of barely sleeping, would never come here again.

The truth is that I was a little afraid after seeing the reviews and I expected anything when I arrived but the impression I got is good, I guess the reviews are very exaggerated...The elevator was very fast and the room was quite large and comfortable. The lights had a sensor so you didn't have to look for them at night. The hotel staff spoke mostly Spanish and were quite friendly. The only downside was that a false fire alarm went off at 5am which interrupted everyone's sleep but was fixed very quickly. We will definitely go again :))

The location was decent but had to park in garage when I left the next day to leave it cost me$90. I'm glad that while me and fiance was there we didn't have to drive anywhere because I would had paid $90 twice. It was clean but busy amd although the room was nice I never seen one so tiny. Oh negative most importantly they charged me twice once for a night I wasn't there. I will not visit again.Rooms: Tiny room it's like a tiny studio. Skinny hallways two heavy set people could definitely not walk by side by side. Bathroom is tight you have to move to the side to close the door all the waySafety: Dude walked inside pnc with me to the at station and asked me if I had anything to spare. Hell no bold as crap. I don't have anything for you and the security seen and kicked him out

Hotel and rooms are decent but elevators are nightmare. Regularly took 20-30 minutes from your floor to the lobby! There are only 4 elevators which are all cramped for space and the rooftop bar reserves one of the elevators at night!

Our first night we got no sleep as we could hear the music from the rooftop bar until 3:30am. The music was proper club music and made it impossible to sleep. The following morning we asked for a room change and they did so. This room although we could still hear some of the music at points, was much nicer and as a result we had a very good nights sleep. Staff were nice and the hotel was central to everything!Rooms: Rooms are a decent size and beds are comfortable. Although traveling with a family of 4 the rooms only provided 2 cups and 3 towels!!Walkability: Very central and within walking distance of everything you would needFood & drinks: Breakfast was really nice and staff were really friendly

The customer service and the staff is excellent and they were really attentive. The rooms are pretty small and run down. I kinda expected it but still a bit disappointing. The location is good.

This hotel is not in the IDEAL location but it is a short walk from Times Square so not too bad. Water in shower would not warm so we took freezing cold showers (in the dead of winter) we also had a blinking fire alarm the entire two nights. We reported both but they were never fixed. HANDS DOWN THE BEST THING ABOUT THIS HOTEL WAS CARLOS- the Bellman. He was beyond kind, went out of his way to book us the top view bus and walked us down the street to easily hale us a taxi cab the day of departure. He was a wealth of knowledge and honestly, he should be the manager at this place- he is quick and efficient. Best customer service I have had in a while. This place would have been a 3 star but Carlos got them the extra Star!Rooms: Nothing to write home about but okayWalkability: Close to Times Square

Hotel neat and clean.Quite centrally located. 10 min walk to Times Square.Small room for 4 people, Small bathroom/closet for 4 people, service was good. To have a nice view, you must book at least floors 28 to 36. (Costs extra money per night).

When one elevator was down, they closed another elevator to make it exclusive for the bar above. There was moments where that exclusive elevator was not in use, and it was still not available to hotel guests. When there are four elevators in your hotel, and one goes down, you don’t close another one as well. I paid for the hotel and its amenities and priority was given to non hotel guests going to some bar. This caused a massive, unnecessary line to take the only two elevators available. A line that took up the whole lobby and 25-30 minutes just waiting for an elevator to my room. That lobby was as crowded as times square. For a hotel that already has a lot of wait for elevators normally, the closing down of an elevator when another is down was just unacceptable. Plus 2 out of the 3 times I asked for cookies they were not available, so what sets Double Tree apart from the rest was not even there. And finally, the room I selected a night before my stay was changed 2 hours after the supposed check-in time of 3 pm for a room with a worse view. The only good thing that came from this stay was the service from the bell man Carlos. He is exceptional and honestly should not be working in such a poorly managed hotel that doesn’t care about their guests. He belongs in the best of hotels as he genuinely does care and provides the best of the best service. Hotel is next to a subway stop which is convenient, but it is situated in the exterior of times square in an ugly, unsafe area. Wouldn’t recommend to no one, and definitely wouldn’t return when I come back to Mew York.

Establishment to flee. No shower gel, no heating we had to change rooms. The taps are rusty and the shower doors close so poorly that you will get water everywhere. An establishment that bears its name very badly. The staff is friendly but when you ask them for shower gel instead of giving it in the room they give you tiny samples! Small room with barely enough room for our suitcases. It seems that the establishment was created because there was a hole to fill only the location saves this establishment because it is close to Times Square and the rooftop is nice because of the beautiful view. Otherwise for the rest I won't come back.Rooms: Shower poorly closed and small room.

Your heater is too loud i could not sleep. Loud music also from roof top bar kept me up as well. Staff were rude at check in time. Please ensure security at main door and at second entrance. A lot of homeless people hanging out right outside the hotel. They approach people staying at your hotel specially at night.Clean the main door and the carpet and couch in the lobby it looks and smell dirty.

Everything at this Hotel is great except for the roof top bar music blasting until the early hours of the morning. The sound travels down the elevator shafts as far down as the 30 floor. $360 for a Saturday night stay with very little sleep. Is this a Hotel or a DJ Bar?
