I think mostly of tourists for these reviews. But this one is for NY’ers too that don’t venture above double digit streets. This little place is a gem. It’s all about the views. Go with finger foods, drinks and good friends.

I hosted a private party at The Hudson last night. Abe and his team made the planning and menu selection easy. The staff was accommodating, responsive and made my party turn-key. The night of the party, the room and decor was impeccable, the food delicious and the staff was incredible. Loved every minute! 100 Stars!

Great food but expensive. Is it worth it? I sure though so! Portions were nice as well. The spare ribs I got were very tender and juicy and fell right off the bone! That Mac and cheese was creamy and paired well! The salmon and rice was good but the salmon was a bit dry. Could have been a bit more moist. The drinks were strong and got me buzzed. I recommend coming during the warmer season with great views and sunset!

Best Piña Colada I've ever had! It started out awful but the more I drank the better it got!

Worst piña colada I ever had. It tastes so bitter. Also, the food is very mediocre. If you come here, come for the view and get canned or bottled drinks. The food and the cocktails are not great .

Perhaps the worst food I've ever been served in a restaurant. We paid $90 to dock here and over $200 for our food (no alcohol). Food took 30 minutes to come out and everything was cold. Our appetizers arrived 15 minutes after our food and the wings and calamari were also cold. Burger had 1 end of a small tomato and some wilted lettuce. When I told our server, she asked that I post a negative review Vs any offer to take anything off our bill. Save your hard earned $$ for somewhere else on the River.

The perfect example of why monopolies are terrible for consumers... when you're the only restaurant on the river you're guaranteed customers no matter. The calamari was some sort of dusty white plastic in a half-hearted batter. Extremely chewy, cold, and absolutely no taste. Was also served with some ghastly sweet sauce. I know they were understaffed and unprepared, but oh dear what lack of organization.

Pros: the location. It's right along the Hudson River. Can rent part of the place out for a party if needed. Cons: drinks were okay, nothing to brag about. The food was absolutely horrible. I ordered calamari and it was like eating rubber. Also ordered brussel sprouts. Those were okay. Honestly, if you come here, just get drinks, enjoy the views, and head to another place for food. Parking is a pain too. I think this place needs a new cook/chef.

We were willing for mediocre food just to be on The Hudson River banks. They surprised us with very good food, excellent service, moderate prices - go!

Looking for a nice dinner after a day at the Cloisters, and was hoping this would be the perfect fit. Unfortunately, we had a very poor experience at The Hudson. The service was incredibly slow, and we had to ask several times to even get our order in. We were disappointed with both food and drinks—everything was generally bland and underwhelming. And again, it took over 20 minutes to even get our check (we even had to ask for a pen to sign). Would not recommend, I think there are much better restaurants in the area.

Place is good, but they are actually separate to two different section. One you have to order at bar and pick up your food yourselves. One you will have a waiter/waitress to serve you. My suggestion is to order at bar, because the waited location is not really worth.Food and Drinks:2.5/5First thing, the waitress told me that refill is not free, even though they use the fountain drink machine.Second, Boiled clam with linguine with garlic butter sauce, but I don't think the clam is very fresh. It doesn't have the puffiness of the fresh boil clam if you know what I mean. The fried fish in fish and chips is a F. The fried batter is soggy. The lobster on Mac & cheese with lobster is not very tasty.Service:3/5Once again, drink from fountain drink is not free refill. I just can't get over it.The waitress is either new or not sure what is she doing. She doesn't know what kind of soft drinks they have. She don't know what the combination means for Boiled seafood on their menu. She have to ask someone for answers for 4 different questions while I was ordering my food.Place:4/5This is the only good part. Even though the sun umbrella is broken, I have to site under the sun directly for 2 hours, but the view is undeniably good.So.....my suggestion is only go there if you don't care much about food and service and you need the view of the river desperately at the same time that you cannot find any other location.

It was beautiful! We really were on the Hudson with a good view of the GW bridge, the cloisters and greenery. There was also live music in the corner. There are 2 main areas. One is more in the sun. This area has some couches and umbrellas and there's also tall metal chairs with no shade.I get hot easily and didn't want to bake, so we moved "inside." It's an open air building with ceiling fans. It was perfect. We got a breeze but still were part of the outside experience. No walls. The server was very attentive and repeated everything back to us. They were able to make things spicy or not at all.The family members i was with love alcohol so they all got some kind of fruity drink. I stuck to soda but it was a relatively big glass. In terms of food, everyone liked theirs. I was not feeling great so my experience is not as important except to say that i could get something plain if i wanted.Everyone else tried different tacos and they said they were delish. We also got some sides. The brussel sprouts were fresh and not mushy. We all liked them.Another side was mashed potatoes with parmesan on top. I didn't want any. Nobody really liked it.Earlier, it's worth mentioning that we got Guacamole and chips to share. The chips were homemade and the Guacamole was really good. But i do think they could have given us a bigger portion of Guacamole.By the end of the meal, we were all stuffed but i am always intrigued by sweets. I got a scoop of vanilla and one of chocolate. A very nice hearty portion! There was even whipped cream and some chocolate sauce. So, all in all, I would GO. I don't know when it closes for the season but it's like being in another city. You're far enough away from the traffic that you don't hear it at all!

Great views, Good portions, Ample Seating.I am a fan of this place if you can go there when they open. It's a good spot to do a bit of work and enjoy the space. Good drinks menu and they sport a very good chicken sandwich. Their fried calamari is also pretty good.Recommend for a dinner/ date/ gathering.Oh and they have indoor and outdoor seating, porch games i.e. Giant Connect Four, Corn Hole and music.

After an absence of over a year we decided to pick-up an order of what we were hoping to be great fish and shrimp tacos and guacamole. $78 later as we started to eat the grub we realized, what a waste. The shrimp taco had no sauce and condiments, it was flavorless. The fish taco was smothered with a corn-laden "salsa" also tasteless. Just terrible! The guacamole base consisted of excessively ripe avocado, likely made that morning as part of a vat of the stuff, instead of being made-to-order; giving it a fermented, instead of fresh taste, that REAL RESTAURANTS SERVE (serve to order)! PATHETIC! What a waste for probably the best scenic venue for a restaurant in all of NYC. This place should be run by a serious top-Michelin quality chef and not amateurs who have no interest in top-quality food, despite charging as though they did. Never again, until, they get serious about quality food. What a disappointment!
